Lipstick is one of the most commonly used cosmetics, which is closely associated with female attractiveness and influences people's perception and behavior. This study aimed to investigate the impact of light sources, lipstick colors, as well as gender on the subjective assessment of lipstick color products from the prospective of color preference, purchase intention and sexual attractiveness. The correlation between color preference evaluations when applying lipstick on lips and on forearms was also explored.

Psychophysical experiment is the most straightforward and reliable way to investigate the impact of lighting on visual colour perception. In this study, a series of experiments were conducted in order to investigate the impact of experimental setting and protocol on the obtained conclusions in visual tests regarding human preference on object colour in applied lighting research. Four light sources of 5,500 K, with Duv values of -0.

Interfacial fluid mixing induced by successive waves, such as shock, rarefaction, and compression waves, plays a fundamental role in engineering applications, e.g., inertial confinement fusion, and in natural phenomena, e.

When the integrity of airway epithelium is destroyed, the ordered airway barrier no longer exists and increases sensitivity to viral infections and allergens, leading to the occurrence of airway inflammation such as asthma. Here, we found that galectin-7 transgenic(+) mice exhibited abnormal airway structures as embryos and after birth. These abnormalities included absent or substantially reduced pseudostratified columnar ciliated epithelium and increased monolayer cells with irregular arrangement and widening of intercellular spaces.

Rayleigh-Taylor instability (RTI) under radiation background is commonly found in both engineering applications and natural phenomena. In the optically thin and incompressible limit, the corresponding problem can be simplified as an interface discontinuous acceleration (IDA) RTI problem, but to date has only been studied in the linear stage. In this paper, the entire IDA-RTI evolution was studied numerically and theoretically, particularly for the stages beyond the linear stage.

The Richtmyer-Meshkov instability of small perturbed single-mode interfaces between an elastic-plastic solid and an inviscid liquid is investigated by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation in this work. A modified model including the Atwood number effect is proposed to describe the long-term behaviors of small perturbations at the solid-liquid interface. In contrast to an effective theoretical model at the solid-vacuum interface, this model is appropriate at different Atwood numbers.

Background: Mediastinal teratoma is uncommon in children. It can be very difficult to diagnose especially in early stage. Rarely, teratoma may rupture into adjacent structures and lead to lung lesions or pleuritis.

Turbulent mixing induced by Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability occurs ubiquitously in many natural phenomena and engineering applications. As the simplest and primary descriptor of the mixing process, the evolution of mixing width of the mixing zone plays a notable role in the flows. The flows generally involve complex varying acceleration histories and widely varying density ratios, two dominant factors affecting the evolution of mixing width.

Objective: To analyze clinical manifestations, treatment and prognosis of 4 cases with endemic typhus.

Method: The clinical data of four endemic typhus patients in prognosis were retrospectively analyzed. These four atypical cases of endemic typhus with pneumonia were treated in our department from October 2011 to March 2012.

Objective: Streptococcus pneumoniae necrotizing pneumonia (SPNP) was reported elsewhere but not in China yet. Inappropriate treatment due to poor recognition of this disease could influence its prognosis. This paper presents the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of SPNP hoping to elevate pediatrician's recognition level for this disease.

A new kind of marattialean raches are reported from the coal balls in Coal Seam No.7 in the upper part of the Taiyuan Formation (early Early Permian) from Taiyuan, Shanxi, China and are assigned to the genus Stipitopteris Grand'Eury (Psaroniaceae). The present specimens are different from all six reported species of the genus, and are therefore proposed as a new species: Stipitopteris shanxiensis.
