Developing deep-blue emitters for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) is critical but challenging, which requires a good balance between light color, exciton utilization, and photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of solid film. Herein, a high-quality deep-blue emitter, abbreviated 2TriPE-CzMCN, is designed by introducing an aggregation-induced emission (AIE) group into a crossed long-short axis (CLSA) skeleton. Theoretical and experimental investigations reveal that the CLSA molecular design can achieve a balance between deep-blue emission and triplet-excitons utilization, while the high PLQY of the solid film resulting from the AIE feature helps to improve the performance of OLEDs.

The spectral narrowing engineering of pure-organic emitters attracts great research interests in realizing high color purity. Here, the adjusted medium-range charge transfer (MCT) strategy of TIC-BO with rigid planar structure by fusing two typical UV-emitting multiple resonance (MR) fragments via the ingenious double-halide cyclized coupling reaction is reported. The resulting TIC-BO with MCT nature shows efficient violet-blue emission in dilute toluene and evaporated host-guest films, and desirably narrowed spectra are achieved by the suppression of structural relaxation and the shortened charge transfer states.

Enrichment for the detection of quinolone residues is usually cumbersome and requires large amounts of toxic organic reagents. Therefore, this study synthesized a low-toxicity hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent (DES) with DL-menthol and p-cresol, which was then characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, and thermal analysis. A simple and rapid vortex-assisted liquid-liquid microextraction method was developed based on this DES for the extraction of eight quinolones from cattle urine.

This paper investigates the impacts of air pollution on immigrants' willingness to settle in China. We construct a theoretical model that discusses how air pollution impacts immigrants' willingness to return home and move to other cities and illustrates how air pollution decreases the settlement intention of immigrants. The empirical results show that urban air pollution decreases immigrants' settlement intention.

Narrowband emitting fluorophores exhibit immense potentials for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with high color purity. However, it's still hard to simultaneously realize short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV) or near ultraviolet emission (NUV) while maintaining a narrowed full width at half maximum (FWHM) value, and rare work focus on such challenging pursuit. Herein, an ingenious synthetic method was devised to achieve emitters with coplanar structure.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with ultraviolet (UV) emission (λ ≤ 400 nm) have attracted special attention in commercial and civil fields owing to their special functions. Nevertheless, the lack of high-quality ultraviolet emitters restricts the practical application of UV OLEDs. Herein, a novel organic molecule with desirable UV emission, 2Na-CzCN, is developed for UV OLEDs.

Numerous studies have investigated the relationship between income inequality and objective environmental pollution, but few focus on the nexus between income inequality and subjective environmental pollution (SEP). Using micro data from the Chinese General Society Survey (CGSS) in 2013 and official statistical data at the provincial level, this paper tests the impact of individual-level income inequality on subjective environmental pollution in China. The results show that individual-level income inequality has an inverted U-shape relationship with subjective environmental pollution, which indicates that increasing the income inequality at the individual level will first rise and then reduce their perceived subjective environmental pollution after reaching the peak.

This paper examines a causal relationship between the opening of a city's subway system and its air quality by exploiting daily data on prefecture-level cities in China from 2000 to 2012. Using multi-period difference in differences (DID) method, we find that air quality can be significantly improved following a subway system opening. Robustness tests support the fundamental empirical results.
