In recent years, there have been many studies focused on improving the performance of active materials; however, applying these materials to active machines still presents significant challenges. In this study, we introduce a light-powered self-translation system for an asymmetric friction slider using a liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) string oscillator. The self-translation system was composed of a hollow slide, two LCE fibers, and a mass ball.

Here, we report that, in the context of mild colonic inflammation, the microbiota protects against colorectal tumorigenesis in mice. This protection is achieved by microbial suppression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Snhg9.

We herein report a unique case of ovarian MCST with positive nestin expression in a 39-year-old Chinese woman. The tumor showed microcystic stromal histological structures and characteristically expressed the CD10, WT-1, and Ki67 proteins.

Design: We searched PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PEDro, and Google Scholar for randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effects of nonpharmacological therapies for treating stroke cognitive dysfunctions. We performed a network meta-analysis to estimate the mean treatment effect of 95% credible interval.
Background: Burns represent important global health problems. Whereas many studies are limited by the difficulties in estimating the burden of burns and instead focus on the causes of burns, such as fire, heat, and hot substances. Therefore, a complete assessment of the burden of all injuries leading to burns is essential to developing reasonable global intervention strategies.

Herein, our analyses of liver tissue samples from severe alcoholic hepatitis (SAH) patients and two murine models of ALD reveals that the ALD phenotype was associated with upregulation of the transcription factor ETS domain-containing protein (ELK-3) and ELK-3 signaling activity coupled with downregulation of α/β hydrolase domain containing 10 (ABHD10) and upregulation of deactivating S-palmitoylation of the antioxidant protein Peroxiredoxin 5 (PRDX5). In vitro, we further demonstrate that ELK-3 can directly bind to the ABHD10 promoter to inhibit its transactivation.

Such strain-unaltered textile electronics require advanced fibers that simultaneously have high functionalities and extreme robustness as fabric materials. Current synthetic nanocomposite fibers based on inorganic matrix have remarkable functionalities but often suffer from low robustness and poor tolerance against crack formation.

Therefore, in order to provide new medical evidence for clinical treatment, we used this protocol to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effectiveness and safety of Yiqi Huoxue Yangxin Decoction combined with Western medicine in patients with CHD.
Methods: The systematic review protocol is registered in PROSPERO under registration number CRD42022372800.
Background And Objective: GCMN is a sporadic disease with an incidence ranging from 1/20,000 to 1/500000. So far, several studies have found that GCMN is related to somatic mutations, but most of them have focused on known pathogenic genes, and transcriptome sequencing based on large datasets is relatively uncommon. At present, the use of next-generation sequencing technologies and bioinformatics platforms makes genomic information study more comprehensive and efficient.

The primary keloid fibroblasts (KFs) culture in vitro has always been a fundamental measure to study the pathogenesis of keloid. However, the traditional primary culture methods have some limitations, such as a long culture cycle, low specimen utilization rate and so on.

Recent evidences have shown that N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modifications play important role in modulating the development of multiple cancers, but the detailed mechanisms by which m6A-mediated choriocarcinoma progression have not been fully delineated.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the role of m6A in choriocarcinoma and reveal its underlying molecular mechanisms.
Objective: Treating large/giant congenital melanocytic nevus (L/GCMN) is challenging for surgeons. Operative approaches commonly used to remove L/GCMN include serial excision, tissue expansion, and skin grafting. Thus, we retrospectively compared these three operations' applications and therapeutic effects.

Patients frequently take sick leaves because of pain and dysfunction, and their unpleasant life and work experiences cause psychological depression and anxiety and affect their quality of life. Sleep disturbance is a common problem among patients with low back pain (LBP) with more than 50% complaining about poor sleep quality.

Background: Dermatitis is an important global health problem that not only affects social interaction and physical and mental health but also causes economic burden. Health problems or distress caused by dermatitis may be easily overlooked, and relevant epidemiological data are limited. Therefore, a better understanding of the burden of dermatitis is necessary for developing global intervention strategies.

Previous studies have examined how smartphones influence the life satisfaction of the elderly, but the existence of conflicting conclusions suggests the existence of a "black box". In this study, using a survey from 941 elders, we examine whether smartphone use can improve life satisfaction of the elders by inducing emotional affordance offered by social networking Apps and functional affordance offered by healthcare system Apps. It is found that both emotional affordance and functional affordance acted as intermediating variables between the use of smartphone and elders' life satisfaction.

Morphological studies were performed to explore the distribution of FM and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) in tuberculous wounds, with acute and chronic wounds included for comparison. Phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate stimulation-differentiated THP-1 cells were treated with Mtb to induce their differentiation into FM with oxidised low-density lipoprotein treatment serving as a control.

Here we propose a strategy for fabricating a soft polysiloxane crosslinked MXene aerogel with multilevel nanochannels inside its cellular walls for ultrasensitive pressure detection. The easily shrinkable nanochannels and optimized material synergism endow the piezoresistive aerogel with an ultralow Young's modulus (140 Pa), numerous variable conductive pathways, and mechanical robustness.
