Metal-embedded complexes (MECs), including transition metal complexes (TMCs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), are important in catalysis, materials science, and molecular devices due to their unique metal atom centrality and complex coordination environments. However, modeling and predicting their properties accurately is challenging. A new metal attention (MA) framework for graph neural networks (GNNs) was proposed to address the limitations of traditional methods, which fail to differentiate core coordination structures from ordinary covalent bonds.

Proteinase-activated receptor-2 (PAR2) is closely linked to tumor malignancy, but its biological role in cancer remains underexplored. In this study, we assessed PAR2 expression in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and normal lung tissues, analyzed associations between clinicopathological features and survival rates, and confirmed that PAR2 promotes apoptosis resistance and reduces cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity in lung cancer cells. Using TCGA datasets, western blotting, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry (IHC), we observed a significant increase in PAR2 levels in LUAD samples compared to normal tissues (P<0.

Oil-water separation materials with specialized wettability have garnered significant attention in the field of oil-water separation due to the advantages of simple use and no secondary pollution. However, the adsorptive contamination of the filter surface by impurity phases and surfactants can cause a shift in the wettability of the filter surface. For efficient oil-water separation and improved resistance to adherent contamination on the oil-water separation membrane surface, herein, superwetted Cu nanofilms and smooth hydrophobic surfaces were prepared on SSM substrates by one-step electrodeposition and immersion methods, respectively.

Quartz sand proppant is widely used in hydraulic fracturing and the extraction of low-permeability reservoirs to prevent fracture closure and enhance reservoir recovery effectively. The influence of proppant size and type on well productivity has been widely studied, but the mechanism of proppant surface wettability on the hydraulic fracture inflow performance has not been thoroughly investigated. To further understand the influence of proppant wettability on fracture inflow performance, in this work, a hydrophobic quartz sand proppant was prepared by a simple dip-coating method using silane solution with a static water contact angle of 136.

The energy resources are rich, and the ecological environment is fragile in Gansu-Qinghai regions, which are facing problems in the coordinated development of green as well as low carbon transformation and high-quality economy. Based on the reality of Gansu-Qinghai regions, this study deeply analyzed the characteristics of regional carbon emissions; constructed the system dynamics model between carbon emissions and population, economy, energy, and policy; clarified the relationship between them; and probed into the future green development path. The results showed that: ① In recent years, the total and per capita carbon emissions in Gansu-Qinghai regions have been on the rise.

  • Layered vanadium pentoxide (VO) is a promising cathode material for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) but has limitations due to its fragile structure and slow zinc migration.* -
  • A dual-cations intercalation strategy using manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn) enhances the performance of the VO, resulting in the new (MnZn)VO (MZVO) electrode with impressive capacity and stability.* -
  • The MZVO exhibits a reversible capacity of 463 mA h g and maintains 94% capacity after 1000 cycles, with performance improvements attributed to faster Zn migration and structural stability as shown by DFT calculations and operando XRD analysis.*

Background And Purpose: The imaging of inflammatory myelopathies has advanced significantly over time, with MRI techniques playing a pivotal role in enhancing lesion detection. However, the impact of deep learning (DL)-based reconstruction on 3D double inversion recovery (DIR) imaging for inflammatory myelopathies remains unassessed. This study aims to compare acquisition time, image quality, diagnostic confidence, and lesion detection rates among sagittal T2WI, standard DIR, and DL -reconstructed DIR in patients with inflammatory myelopathies.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α) is a key regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidative defenses, and it may play a critical role in Parkinson's disease (PD). F-box/WD repeat domain-containing protein (FBXW7), an E3 protein ligase, promotes the degradation of substrate proteins through the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) and leads to the clearance of PGC-1α. Here, we elucidate a novel post-translational mechanism for regulating PGC-1α levels in neurons.

  • Radon measurements in water are essential in various fields, but accurate preparations of radon calibration standards are slow, impacting research.
  • The study finds that radon concentration in water increases with dissolution time, and stirring speed affects both the rate of dissolution and the equilibrium time.
  • It is recommended to regulate dissolution duration to optimize radon solution preparations, ensuring reliable and precise concentrations under stable environmental conditions.

Background: In recent years, the incidence of Parkinson's disease has gradually increased, and the application of dopamine drugs has been limited, so there is an urgent need to explore a more effective treatment method to treat Parkinson's disease effectively treated. Subthalamic nucleus-deep brain stimulation and globus pallidus internus-deep brain Subthalamic nucleus-deep brain stimulation and globus pallidus internus-deep brain stimulation are the two treatments for Parkinson's disease. However, there is no clear conclusion as to which of these two methods is more effective.

Recognizing expressions from dynamic facial videos can find more natural affect states of humans, and it becomes a more challenging task in real-world scenes due to pose variations of face, partial occlusions and subtle dynamic changes of emotion sequences. Existing transformer-based methods often focus on self-attention to model the global relations among spatial features or temporal features, which cannot well focus on important expression-related locality structures from both spatial and temporal features for the in-the-wild expression videos. To this end, we incorporate diverse graph structures into transformers and propose a CDGT method to construct diverse graph transformers for efficient emotion recognition from in-the-wild videos.

At low temperatures, lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries have poor kinetics, resulting in extreme polarization and decreased capacity. In this study, we investigated the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries utilizing transition metal alloy-based cathode materials. Specifically, binary transition metal alloys (FeNi, FeCo, and NiCo) are integrated into a porous carbon nanofiber (CNF) matrix as composite cathode material.

The development of capable of simultaneously modulating the sluggish electrochemical kinetics, shuttle effect, and lithium dendrite growth is a promising strategy for the commercialization of lithium-sulfur batteries. Consequently, an elaborate preparation method is employed to create a host material consisting of multi-channel carbon microspheres (MCM) containing highly dispersed heterostructure FeO-FeTe nanoparticles. The FeO-FeTe@MCM exhibits a spontaneous built-in electric field (BIEF) and possesses both lithophilic and sulfophilic sites, rendering it an appropriate host material for both positive and negative electrodes.
