On the basis of the co-culture strategy, five previously undescribed S-bridged pyranonaphthoquinones, crepidamycins A-E (1-5) and five known analogues (6-10) were isolated from a medicinal plant endophytic Streptomyces sp. MG-F-1 in Dendrobium crepidatum with Bacillus cereus MG-1. The structures and absolute configurations of 1-5 were elucidated by the interpretation of data from detailed spectroscopic analysis and electronic circular dichroism spectra, together with consideration of the biogenetic origins.

Phellodendrine is a promising compound for gastrointestinal inflammatory diseases and is extracted from the traditional Chinese medicine phellodendron bark. The study aimed to explore the role of phellodendrine against oxidative stress and autophagy in burn sepsis-induced intestinal injury.

Tripartite motif 8 (TRIM8) has been shown to play multiple roles in the host's defence against viral infections. However, the functions of TRIM8 in regulating PEDV infection are still not well understood.

However, current H2S delivery approaches lack sufficient specificity against inflammatory response. Herein, regarding the overexpressed aminopeptidase N (APN) at the inflammation sites, an APN-activated self-immolative carbonyl sulfide (COS)/H2S donor (AlaCOS) was developed for inflammatory response-specific H2S delivery.

Lack of dynamic chromatin accessibility data after stroke is one of the obstacles to understanding this process. To gain insights into the variations in transcriptional regulation among various cell types subsequent to a stroke, we employed single-nucleus ATAC-seq to curate a chromatin accessibility compendium from the cerebral cortex of mice subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R).

Background And Purpose: Epilepsy, a globally prevalent neurological disorder, necessitates precise identification of the epileptogenic zone (EZ) for effective surgical management. While the individual utilities of FDG PET and FMZ PET have been demonstrated, their combined efficacy in localizing the epileptogenic zone remains underexplored. We aim to improve the non-invasive prediction of epileptogenic zone (EZ) in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) by combining FDG PET and FMZ PET with statistical feature extraction and machine learning.

Methods: Patients with diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers, who were hospitalized for chemotherapy involving antimetabolic drugs, were eligible in this prospective study. Echocardiography was performed before and after each chemotherapy cycle during hospitalization until the completion of chemotherapy.
Metal fatigue, characterized by the accumulation of dislocation defects, is a prevalent failure mode in structural materials. Nondestructive early-stage detection of metal fatigue is extremely important to prevent disastrous events and protect human life. However, the lack of a precise quantitative method to visualize fatigue with spatiotemporal resolution poses a significant obstacle to timely detection.

In this study, we introduce a light-powered self-translation system for an asymmetric friction slider using a liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) string oscillator. The self-translation system was composed of a hollow slide, two LCE fibers, and a mass ball.

Intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) is a safe and effective brain stimulation therapy for reducing depressive symptoms in adolescents. The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical efficacy of iTBS in treating adolescent patients with depressive disorders and the factors influencing clinical symptoms.

It is important to study the immune response of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant due to its remarkable ability to escape the majority of existing SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies. The surge in SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infections among most Chinese residents by the end of 2022 provides a unique opportunity to understand immune system's response to Omicron in populations with limited exposure to prior SARS-CoV-2 variants.

Here, we report that, in the context of mild colonic inflammation, the microbiota protects against colorectal tumorigenesis in mice. This protection is achieved by microbial suppression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Snhg9.

However, the exact nature of the relationship between inflammatory factors and the development of MG remains unclear. Consequently, the objective of this study is to explore whether alterations in the levels of inflammatory factors, as influenced by genetic factors, are associated with the occurrence of MG.

This study aims to investigate the association between long-term outdoor O concentration and the risk of EBPs in children and adolescents and further explore whether increased PA levels modify this association.
Methods: Data were obtained from the 2020 wave follow-up examination of an ongoing prospective cohort study (COHERENCE project) in Guangzhou, China.

The elevated risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) associated with inflammatory rheumatic diseases has long been recognized. Patients with established rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a higher mortality rate compared to the general population due to abnormal platelet activation. Thymidine phosphorylase (TYMP) plays a crucial role in platelet activation and thrombosis, following bridging the link between RA and CVD.

Multimodal therapeutics with synergistic effects for treating HCC have attracted increasing attention, for instance, designing biocompatible porphyrin-based nanomedicines for enzyme-mimetic and ultrasound (US)-activable reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Despite the promise, the landscape of such advancements remains sparse.
