Here we report a method, the IROA TruQuant Workflow, that uses a stable isotope-labeled internal standard (IROA-IS) library plus companion algorithms to: 1) measure and correct for ion suppression, and 2) perform Dual MSTUS normalization of MS metabolomic data. We evaluate the method across ion chromatography (IC), hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC), and reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC)-MS systems in both positive and negative ionization modes, with clean and unclean ion sources, and across different biological matrices.

Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of serum uric acid lowering treatment of SGLT2 inhibitors, and ARB in heart failure (HF) patients.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis study with 8 weeks of follow-up on 733 heart failure (HF) patients treated at Can Tho Central General Hospital from January 2023 to March 2024.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has significantly improved mortality rates for individuals living with HIV, but kidney disease remains prevalent, especially among older adults. Our study analyzed the burden of kidney disease in individuals aged 65 and older at The Miriam Hospital Immunology Center in Rhode Island. We calculated estimated glomerular filtration rates using the last creatinine values from 2019 and identified chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages.

We present UFP-MS, an ultra-fast mass spectrometry (MS) proteomics method that integrates narrow-window data-independent acquisition (nDIA) with short-gradient micro-flow chromatography, enabling profiling of >240 samples per day. This optimized MS approach identifies 6,201 and 7,466 human proteins with 1- and 2-min gradients, respectively.

Inactivation of the tumor suppressor gene is the signature initiating event in the most common form of kidney cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Such tumors are usually driven by the excessive HIF2 activity that arises when the gene product, pVHL, is defective.

Somatic variant detection is an integral part of cancer genomics analysis. While most methods have focused on short-read sequencing, long-read technologies now offer potential advantages in terms of repeat mapping and variant phasing. We present DeepSomatic, a deep learning method for detecting somatic SNVs and insertions and deletions (indels) from both short-read and long-read data, with modes for whole-genome and exome sequencing, and able to run on tumor-normal, tumor-only, and with FFPE-prepared samples.

Although the intestinal microbiota is associated with the incidence of aLGI-GVHD, how the intestinal microbiota impacts treatment responses in aLGI-GVHD has not been thoroughly studied. In a cohort of patients with aLGI-GVHD (n = 37), we found that non-response to standard therapy with corticosteroids was associated with prior treatment with carbapenem antibiotics and a disrupted fecal microbiome characterized by reduced abundances of Bacteroides ovatus.

Tobacco smoking temporal trends were estimated for individuals aged 15 and over and stratified by demographic and socioeconomic status (SES). Prevalence estimates used survey weights and 95% confidence intervals.

Better understanding of drought characteristics is crucial to drought management. Given the sparsity of ground-based precipitation observations in the Cauto, this study aims at using gridded global precipitation to analyze the spatio-temporal variations of drought in this river basin.

Aims: To compare the efficacy and safety of simultaneous and sequential fractional CO laser and subcision combination therapies for post-acne atrophic scars.
This study explored the treatment of Leucomalachite Green (LMG) solutions using an electron beam and sodium persulfate (NaSO), employing Box-Behnken design (BBD) to optimize operational variables such as absorbed dose, initial pH and NaSO concentration. The findings highlighted an optimal absorbed dose of 4.5 kGy, a NaSO concentration of 1.

To determine the eGFR formula with the most accurate estimate of glomerular filtration rate when compared with mGFR in a healthy population in Vietnam. We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study of more than 100 adults without hypertension.

The 2D speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) is a new technique for detecting potential cardiac dysfunction when only tissue function abnormalities are present. The study aimed to assess left ventricular (LV) systolic function early by STE in patients with primary MR through global LV deformity along the global longitudinal strain (GLS).

Long-read sequencing offers the advantage of better mappability and long-range phasing, which results in substantial improvements in germline SV detection. However, current long-read SV detection methods do not generalize well to the analysis of somatic SVs in tumor genomes with complex rearrangements, heterogeneity, and aneuploidy.

While PE and CVD are known to share clinical and molecular characteristics, there are limited studies investigating their shared genomics (genetics, epigenetics or transcriptomics) variation over time. Therefore, we sought to systematically review the literature to identify longitudinal studies focused on the genomic progression to CVD following PE.

A tumor ecosystem constantly evolves over time in the face of immune predation or therapeutic intervention, resulting in treatment failure and tumor progression. Here, we present a single-cell transcriptome-based strategy to determine the evolution of longitudinal tumor biopsies from liver cancer patients by measuring cellular lineage and ecology. We construct a lineage and ecological score as joint dynamics of tumor cells and their microenvironments.
