Background: Traditional lateral flow biosensors (LFBs), which utilize colorimetric signals as output, possess the virtues of simplicity and rapidity. However, it also suffers from insufficient sensitivity and limited reliability. It is well known that the results of LFBs can be false positive, and it is difficult to perform accurate quantification under low-abundance targets.

Limited primary data are available to understand the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity, especially in resource-limited rural areas. This study aims to conduct robust evaluations of the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity among rural adults in China, and to compare the differences in prevalence and patterns when using primary data alone versus in combination with routinely collected data.

Method: Data related to all 6 patients included in this study were prospectively collected from November 2016 to November 2023. The tract for endotracheal tube was created by bluntly dissection from the submandibular area to the floor of mouth.
Objective: Colorectal cancer (CRC) surgeries can be performed using either laparoscopic or open laparotomy approaches. However, the long-term outcomes based on tumor location and age remain unclear. This study compared the long-term outcomes of laparoscopic and laparotomy surgeries in patients with CRC, focusing on tumor location and age to identify suitable subgroups and determine an optimal cut-off age.

In this work, we introduce a design principle of topological-single-atom catalysts (T-SACs) guided by density functional theory (DFT) and Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) calculations, where metal single atoms are arranged in asymmetric configurations that electronic shield topologically misorients d orbitals, minimizing unwanted interactions between reactants and the support surface. Mn/CeO catalysts, synthesized via a charge-transfer-driven approach, demonstrate superior catalytic activity and selectivity for NO removal.

The problem of diseases co-existing in living things can be resolved by using probiotics. , has gained attention recently due to its probiotic properties, useful traits, and potential medical applications.

Failure of spontaneous remyelination is attributable to insufficient differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) into mature myelin-forming oligodendrocytes in CNS demyelinated lesions. Emerging evidence suggests that peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) is the master gatekeeper of CNS injury and repair and plays an important regulatory role in various neurodegenerative diseases.

Biomass fermentation is a promising method for the sustainable generation of biohydrogen (bioH) from the renewable feedstock. Due to the inherent resistant structure of biomass, LCB needs to be pretreated to improve its digestibility and utilization.

Here we investigated the persistency of such adaptation effect by tracking the timecourse of decay of short-term body size adaptation in young healthy Chinese women. Participants adapted to contracted or expanded body images of unfamiliar female volunteers with a top-up paradigm.

Methods: Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to analysis the association between ACE, physical pain, and depressive symptoms. To assess the mediating role of physical pain in the relationship between ACE and depressive symptoms, mediation analysis was conducted.
European sardine Sardina pilchardus is a commercially valuable coastal pelagic fish species. Spain is one of the largest sardine suppliers in Europe and the Iberian stock is of particular significance. Kudoa parasites are known to infect sardines causing the so-called 'soft flesh' condition; however, data on the occurrence of 'soft flesh' in this sardine stock are limited.

However, the related studies on the potato OASTL gene family (StOASTL) have not been reported. In the present study, we identified 11 members of the StOASTL gene family, conducting a thorough analysis encompassing chromosome distribution, protein physicochemical properties, gene structure, protein-conserved motifs, and gene replication events.

Here, we used gene activation assays and genetic transformation to investigate the transcriptional activities of two MYB TFs, PRODUCTION OF ANTHOCYANIN PIGMENT 1 (AtPAP1) from Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) and EsMYBA1 from Epimedium (Epimedium sagittatum), and their synthetic variants in a range of plant species from several families. Using anthocyanin biosynthesis as a convenient readout, we discovered that homologous naturally occurring TFs showed differences in the transcriptional activation ability and that similar TFs induced large changes in the genetic program when heterologously expressed in different species.

For single-event radiation damage of power MOSFET devices, this paper aims to establish a statistical analysis method based on external observation (gate/drain current characteristics in irradiation environment) to recognize and evaluate the radiation evolution process and damage mechanism of microscopic physical quantities inside the devices, namely current-carrier (CC) mapping. Firstly, a special data fluctuate-collapse transform analysis method is proposed according to the temporal characteristics of the gate/drain current. Secondly, a carrier dynamic balance ratio based on current data is defined to evaluate the radiation damage degree of the device.
