We investigate both bipartite and multipartite nonlocality in theJ1-J2Heisenberg model. Bipartite nonlocality is measured by the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality, while multipartite nonlocality is explored through Bell-type inequalities. Our findings reveal that neither ground-state nor full thermal-state nonlocality reliably characterizes quantum phase transitions (QPTs).

As an alternative for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), sodium p-perfluorononyloxybenzene sulfonate (OBS) has been widely used in petroleum, fire-fighting materials, and other industries. In order to efficiently and economically remove OBS contaminations from water bodies, in this study, a ternary heterojunction was constructed by coupling BiOBr and BiOI@BiOI for improving the redox capacity and carrier separation ability of the material and investigating the effect of the doping ratios of BiOBr and BiOI@ BiOI on the performance of the catalysts. Furthermore, the effects on the degradation of OBS were also explored by adjusting different catalyst doping ratios, OBS concentrations, catalyst amounts, and pH values.

Oil shale development, a significant global energy concern, involves the pyrolysis of kerogen, a process that can heat and contaminate groundwater with pyrolysis products. To address these challenges, this study introduces the ambient-temperature gas in situ heating (ATGIH) method as an alternative to traditional techniques. The ATGIH method establishes a low-temperature gas barrier to prevent water infiltration into the production zone by placing heating holes between the injection and production wells.

Widespread distributions of short-chain perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) has been recognized as a crucial environmental issue. However, multiple treatment techniques were ineffective due to their high polarity and mobility, contributing to a never-ending existence in the aquatic environment ubiquitously. The present study revealed potential technique of periodically reversing electrocoagulation (PREC) to perform efficient removal of short-chain PFASs including experimental factors (in the conditions of 9 V for voltage, 600 r/min of stirring speed, 10 s of reversing period, and 2 g/L of NaCl electrolyte), orthogonal experiments, actual application, and removal mechanism.

We use two-site quantum nonlocality to identify the topological quantum phase transitions (TQPTs) of the extended Ising model driven by varying system parameters. We investigate how the system parameters, including the anisotropies of the nearest-neighbor and the next-nearest-neighbor spin pairs, the transverse magnetic field, and the three-spin interaction, affect the quantum nonlocality. We show that the nonlocality cannot mark any TQPTs while its first derivative can perfectly characterize the TQPTs.

The brown planthopper (BPH), (Stål; Hemiptera: Delphacidae) is a piercing-sucking pest that causes serious damage to rice plants by sucking the phloem sap from the plants and transmitting viruses. During courtship, the BPH vibrates its abdomen to produce signals that are transmitted to rice plants through its legs. Male BPHs search, locate, and mate with female BPHs after they exchange courtship signals with each other.

The levels of legacy per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have been growing in the environmental matrices and blood of residents living around the fluorochemical industrial park (FIP) in Fuxin of China over the past decade. Although some recent studies have reported occurrence of novel PFAS alternatives in biotic and abiotic matrices near fluorochemical facilities worldwide, little is known about novel PFAS congeners in maternal sera, umbilical cord sera, and placentas from the female residents close to the FIP and their related health risks. In this study, 50 paired samples of maternal and cord serum as well as placenta were derived from Fuxin pregnant women at delivery, and 21 target analytes of legacy PFASs in all the samples were analyzed via high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS), revealing that PFBS, PFBA, and PFOA were the dominant PFAS contaminants observed in the whole samples.
