Selective Upper-Body Perfusion Technique for Removal of Renal Cell Carcinoma Extending into the Inferior Vena Cava and Right Atrium.

Invasion of a renal cell carcinoma thrombus into the inferior vena cava and right atrium is infrequent. Reaching and completely excising a tumor from the inferior vena cava is particularly challenging because the liver covers the surgical field. We report the case of a 61-year-old man who underwent surgery for a renal cell carcinoma of the right kidney that extended into the inferior vena cava and right atrium.

Comparison of the Trendelenburg position versus upper-limb tourniquet on internal jugular vein diameter.

The right internal jugular vein (RIJV) is the preferred site. Enlargement of the jugular vein area facilitates catheterization and reduces complication rates.

A Comparison of the Effects of Neuronal Nitric Oxide Synthase and Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase Inhibition on Cartilage Damage.

The study involved 27 Wistar rats that were divided into five groups. On Day 1, both knees of 3 rats were resected and placed in a formalin solution as a control group.

Neuromuscular effects of cisatracurium in morbidly obese patients.

Obesity is associated with significant changes in body composition and function that may alter the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of various drugs. In this study, we investigated the neuromuscular effects of cisatracurium in morbidly obese as compared to control group of normal body weight patients. In the morbidly obese group (n = 20), corrected weight was used to calculate the drug doses.
