Therefore, in order to reveal this mushroom treasure, in recent years, taxonomical research on wild mushrooms has been intensified in Asian countries, including India, by undertaking a combined approach of morpho-taxonomy and multigene molecular phylogeny. Boletoid mushrooms (Boletaceae) are no exception.

Bilateral Basal Ganglia Calcifications Manifesting as Psychosis With Manic Features: A Case Report on Fahr's Syndrome.

Fahr's syndrome is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by symmetric bilateral calcifications in the basal ganglia. While this is largely a hereditary disease with autosomal dominant inheritance, a small percentage is sporadic in nature with no metabolic or other underlying causes identified. Fahr's syndrome has both neurological and psychiatric manifestations that include movement abnormalities, seizures, psychosis, and depression.

Custom-Made Dual-Functional Oral Appliance for Management of Obstructive Sleep Apneic Completely Edentulous Patient.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) being a gold standard treatment to open the upper airway by application of controlled compressed air is still not a widely accepted mode of treatment among obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) individuals. To improve patency of upper airway space and reduce the risk of sleep apnoea, it is essential to provide mandibular advancement devices (MADs) that could provide non-continuous positive airway pressure (non-CPAP) for patients with OSA. Availability of prefabricated oral appliances (OAs) like MADs, tongue holding devices reduced the chair-side fabrication time but has poor adaptation, excessive salivation, and deprivation of sleep.

The incidence and management of complications of venous access in home parenteral nutrition (HPN): A 19 year longitudinal cohort series.

Backgrounds And Aims: Long term central venous access for Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN) is associated with catheter related complications. The most studied and well known of these is Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection (CRBSI). This paper looks at other venous access complications, including blocked and damaged catheters, catheter related thrombosis and CRBSI.

The Consequence of Complete Dentures on Quality of Life of Edentulous Patients in the South-Indian Population Based on Educational and Socioeconomic Grades.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to establish the level of denture satisfaction with socio-demographic variables and educational status of the patients rehabilitated with complete denture. Materials and method A total number of 250 completely edentulous patients were selected who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patients had no past medical history which affects the oral condition; they were first-time denture wearers with period of edentulousness altering between six months to one year and were in the age group of 40-50 years, and were willingly involved in the study.

Statement of problem Discoloration of denture base materials on routine usage has been one of the common esthetic problems encountered by patients. Aim To determine the color stability of three different denture base materials upon staining with beverages and denture cleansing using commercially available denture cleansers. Materials and method Three denture base materials were used for the study, processed according to the manufacturer's recommendation, and cut into 40 study samples measuring approximately 1 cm x 1 cm with 1 mm thickness.

Several studies have failed to show strong correlations either between patient satisfaction with their dentures and their quality or between denture satisfaction and the quality of the denture-supporting tissues. Hence, this study utilized a standardized questionnaire that included questions from domains such as mastication, appearance, speech, comfort, health, denture care, and social status.

Impact of Prosthodontic Treatment on the Oral Health-related Quality of Life in Mucormycosis Patient: A Case Report.

Mucormycosis is a fulminant fungal infection that occurs most often in diabetic and immunocompromised patients, including those with hematologic malignancies. Enucleation involves removal of the eyeball proper and leads to an enophthalmic socket with a shrunken eye, which has a crippling effect on patient's emotional and social life.

Pre-surgical Provisional Prosthesis for Immediate Non-occlusal-loaded Flapless Implant.

A 49-year-old patient reported for immediate replacement of missing maxillary anterior teeth with implant-retained prosthesis. Elevation of flap alters the mucosal level, causes discomfort, and delays the restorative procedure. To maintain the esthetics, flapless surgery was planned.

Quality of life of cervical cancer patients after completion of treatment - A study among Bangladeshi women.

Cervical cancer is the main cause of malignancy-related death among women living in developing countries. The aim of this study is to evaluate the quality of life (QOL) among Bangladeshi cervical cancer survivors and its relationships with demographic and disease related factors A cross-sectional study was carried out onlone hundred nine consecutive cervical cancer survivors in National Institute of cancer Research and Hospital, Dhaka from September 2014 to february 2015 using European organization-for Research and treatment of cancer core Questionnaires (QOL-C30 and QOL- CX24). Demographic condition like education level, occupation and disease related factors like stages, treatment modality and duration of follow-up time were taken as investigating factors against functional scales.

Viscoelastic properties and antimicrobial effects of soft liners with silver zeolite in complete dental prosthesis wearers: an in vivo study.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the viscoelastic properties and antimicrobial activity of a soft liner with and without silver zeolite for a period of 4 weeks.

Materials And Methods: Thirty edentulous patients wearing complete dental prostheses were selected. A uniform space was created in the intaglio surface of their maxillary prosthesis, and a soft liner without silver zeolite (control material: S) was applied.

We selected 254 subjects between the ages of 18 and 30 yr to assess the ear position, angulations of the ear in relation to the nose, visibility from the frontal view, and dimensions of the ear by using various anthropometric points of the face. Rapid diagnosis of active tuberculosis by detecting antibodies from lymphocyte secretions.

In the present study, we investigated the tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic performance of an assay on the basis of detection of TB-specific antibodies from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), to determine whether antibodies in lymphocyte secretions obtained from PBMCs would better reflect active disease than antibodies in serum. PBMCs from patients with and without TB cultured in various concentrations for different times were assessed. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) specific for antigen (bacille Calmette-Guérin [BCG] vaccine and purified protein derivative [PPD]) was measured in lymphocyte secretions.

An appraisal of the appropriateness of the indications for hysterectomy.

Over a five-year period, 197 hysterectomies were performed at King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH). Indications for the procedures vary from menstrual disorders and symptomatic fibroids to ovarian malignancy. The most common indication was found to be menorrhagia.
