Radiation Dose Assessment for Myocardial Perfusion Imaging: A Single Institution Survey.

Objective: This study aims to establish a local diagnostic reference level (LDRL) for single-photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) and positron emission tomography/CT (PET/CT) with respect to myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI).

Materials And Methods: The acquisition protocol and dosimetry data on the MPI procedures of five SPECT/CT scans and one PET/CT scan were collected. Data on technitum-99m sestamibi (Tc-sestamibi), Tc-tetrofosmin, thallium-201 (Tl), and rubidium-82 (RB) were all collected from one centre via questionnaire booklets.

Chronic Kidney Disease Education Class Improves Rates of Early Access Creation and Peritoneal Dialysis Enrollment.

Background Most patients with end-stage kidney disease begin hemodialysis (HD) in an unplanned fashion at a late stage, necessitating the commencement of HD with a temporary venous catheter, the least favorable option. Alternative modalities of kidney replacement therapy (KRT), peritoneal dialysis (PD), and preemptive transplant offer similar or better outcomes than HD at a lower overall cost, and yet they remain underutilized in Saudi Arabia. Early education may help prepare patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD IV and V) to accept their disease and choose a KRT modality that minimizes complications and matches their lifestyle.

Hospital Visitors' Awareness and Adaptation of Preventive Measures for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.

Objective: This study aims to assess the knowledge and awareness, and to identify the practice reflection of knowledge concerning Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) on hospital visitor's daily life.

Methods: A cross-sectional study, conducted in 2 tertiary referral hospitals in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, from February 2015 to February 2016. A total random sample of 305 hospital visitors consented to participate.
