Objective: To assess health related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with kidney stones and to predict risk factors for reduced HRQOL in the patients by the Chinese version of Wisconsin stone quality of life questionnaire (C-WISQOL).
Methods: The patients with renal stones admitted to Peking University People ' s Hospital from July 2020 to June 2021 were prospectively enrolled. The inclusion criteria included the patients with renal stones aged 18-80 years and sufficient Chinese language foundation, and the exclusion criteria included the patients with internal ureteral stents, malignant tumors, sepsis, .
Objectives: This research aimed to understand the long-term trends in the age of menarche among girls and spermarche among boys, and to analyze the factors that may influence the onset of menarche and first spermarche.
Methods: The study was based on data from 49 566 students in Henan Province collected from the Chinese National Surveys on Students' Constitution and Health (CNSSCH) conducted between 2000 and 2019. Median age at menarche and spermarche was estimated by probit analysis.
After germination, seedlings undergo etiolated development (skotomorphogenesis), enabling them to grow towards the soil surface. In Arabidopsis, etiolated seedlings exhibit rapid hypocotyl elongation, apical hook formation and closed cotyledons to protect the meristem. In this study, we found that high-order mutants in the gene family displayed defects in seedling development, characterized by a shorter hypocotyl, early apical hook opening, and opened cotyledons in the dark.

However, traditional radiological methods face diagnostic challenges due to the similarity in imaging between the two.
Methods: Clinical CT images and pathological data of 76 patients confirmed by pathology from January 2018 to January 2024 were retrospectively collected from Guizhou Medical University Affiliated Hospital and Guizhou Medical University Second Affiliated Hospital.

Screening Aβ aggregation inhibitors (AAIs) is important for Alzheimer's disease drug discovery. However, common cellular or biochemical methods are not suitable for high-throughput natural product screening. A gold nanoparticle (GNP) screening method was employed in this study to screen marine fungal crude extracts and pure compounds for quick AAI discovering.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and the factors affecting the prognosis of patients with resectable sarcomatoid carcinoma of the bladder (SCB).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted with the clinical data of patients with resectable SCB treated at the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University between September 2008 and December 2023. The patients were divided into two groups, a bladder-preserving surgery (BPS) group and a radical cystectomy (RC) group, according to the specific surgical approach used for each patient.

Objective: To examine the relationship between the expressions of mismatch repair proteins, MutS homolog 2 (MSH2) and MutS homolog 6 (MSH6), and villin and the pathological features in patients with colon cancer.
Methods: A total of 310 cases of colon cancer patients who were treated at our hospital between January 2017 and September 2021 were selected. The diagnosis of colon cancer of all patients was verified by pathological evaluation.

Objective: To investigate the effect and molecular mechanism of isolongifolene (ISO) on the apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced Crohn's disease (CD)-like colitis in mice.
Methods: In the animal experiments, mice were randomly assigned to the wild type (WT) group, TNBS group and TNBS+ISO group, with 8 mice in each group. Colitis models of mice were established in the TNBS group and the TNBS+ISO group by rectal injection of TNBS.
Objective: To investigate the effect and potential mechanisms of α-cyperone (CYP) on Crohn's disease (CD) -like colitis induced by 2, 4, 6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) in mice.
Methods: The mice were randomly and evenly divided into wild type (WT), TNBS, CYP and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) groups, with 10 mice in each group. The symptoms of enteritis, the function and structure of the intestinal barrier, and the expression levels of inflammatory factors, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and gamma-interferon (IFN-γ), in the colon were assessed.
To study the influence of cyclic disturbance stress on the mechanical behavior of coal during mining, a gas containing coal fluid-solid coupling servo seepage experimental system was used to conduct experimental research on the acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of gas containing coal under two stress paths of graded cyclic loading and unloading. The AE characteristics of coal damage and failure processes under different cyclic stress paths were analyzed. The research results indicate that: (1) The overall characteristics of AE signals for both graded cyclic loading and unloading paths are basically the same.

SL perception requires the formation of the complex composed of an SL receptor DWARF14 (D14), F-box protein D3, and transcriptional repressor D53, triggering ubiquitination and degradation of D53 to activate signal transduction. However, mechanisms of SL perception and their influence on plant architecture and environmental responses remain elusive and controversial.

The first search for the Z boson decay to ττμμ at the CERN LHC is presented, based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. The data are compatible with the predicted background. For the first time, an upper limit at the 95% confidence level of 6.

Transforming growth factor-beta-activation kinase 1 (TAK1) is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family, which can respond to internal and external stimuli and participate in inflammatory responses through multiple signaling pathways and cellular processes. In the last two decades, the regulatory roles of TAK1 at the crossroads of multiple RCD pathways, including apoptosis, necroptosis, pyroptosis, and PANoptosis were revealed by 801 articles retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database.

In autologous bone grafting procedures, some patients face insufficient bone volume at conventional intraoral bone harvesting sites. Due to the high difficulty associated with completing palatal osteotomies freehand, fewer palatal lateral osteotomies have been reported, and palatal bone blocks are not routinely used in bone augmentation procedures.

However, the role of sonogenetics in treating status epilepticus (SE) remains unclear. Here, we aimed to investigate the effects of ultrasound neurostimulation and MscL-G22S (a mechanosensitive ion channel that mediates Ca influx)-mediated sonogenetics (MG-SOG) in a mouse model of kainic acid (KA)-induced SE.

Objective: To investigate the mechanism of immunomodulatory effects of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) modified by miR-125b-5p on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: The expression level of miR-125b-5p was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR in UC-MSCs and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from SLE patients and health checkers. Annexin V-FITC/PI apoptosis detection kit was used to detect the effect of miR-125b-5p on apoptosis of UC-MSCs.
