Traumatic experiences result in the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in 10-25% of exposed individuals. While human clinical studies suggest that susceptibility is potentially linked to endocannabinoid (eCB) signaling, neurobiological PTSD susceptibility factors are poorly understood. Employing a rat model of contextual conditioned fear, we characterized distinct resilient and susceptible subpopulations based on lasting generalized fear, a core symptom of PTSD.

Organizational development and management factors involved in the prevention and effective therapy of pressure ulcers: The results of the national survey conducted among Hungarian public hospitals.

The prevention of pressure ulcer (PU) or pressure injury (PI) wounds is of public health importance in developed countries, including Hungary. The study aimed to assess the PU/PI prevention and care practices of Hungarian public hospitals and identify organizational and management factors. In 2022, a national, questionnaire-based survey of inpatient institutions relevant to PU/PI care was conducted, providing a picture of the practices of 86 hospitals for the year 2019.

The objective of this paper is to obtain physiological functions in a non-invasive manner using commonly available IoT devices. [Health policy approach to the treatment and prevention of pressure ulcers].

Introduction: A pressure sore (decubitus) is a wound that develops on the skin and subcutaneous tissue in places exposed to pressure. Primarily occurs in elderly, non-mobile individuals, the prevention and control of which requires not only medical and nursing participation, but it also financial expenditure.

Objective: In our study, after a systematic document analysis, we present the relevant results of the decubitus survey conducted among state hospitals during Q2 of 2022, focusing on the organizational and management factors of decubitus prevention and care.

Case Report: Here we present a case of a young woman with complete remission of a non-functioning grade 2 pNET with unresectable liver metastases, coexisting with JAK2V617F mutation. Splenectomy and distal pancreatectomy were performed.

Introduction: Swallowing disorders caused by stroke can affect half of the cases in the acute phase. The guidelines for nutrition therapy for stroke patients recommend several screening methods for swallowing disorders. The Gugging Swallowing Screen (GUSS) is one of the most widely used ones but has not been available in Hungarian until now.

Risk-based diabetes screening in a Hungarian general practice: comparison of laboratory methods and diagnostic criteria.

Aim: Aim of cross-sectional study was to survey the risk of diabetes mellitus in a severely disadvantaged Hungarian community and then to use laboratory tests to screen for potential carbohydrate metabolism disorders among those in the moderate- and high-risk groups.

Background: The prevalence of diabetes mellitus shows a worrisome trend worldwide. Low socio-economic status significantly affects the development of diabetes, healthy life years and life expectancy.

Noise Tailoring in Memristive Filaments.

In this study, the possibilities of noise tailoring in filamentary resistive switching memory devices are investigated. To this end, the resistance and frequency scaling of the low-frequency 1/-type noise properties are studied in representative mainstream material systems. It is shown that the overall noise floor is tailorable by the proper material choice, as demonstrated by the order-of-magnitude smaller noise levels in TaO and NbO transition-metal oxide memristors compared to Ag-based devices.

The aim of this study was to implement a two-stage diabetes screening programme in a severely disadvantaged municipality. In the first stage, diabetes risk assessment was carried out in the 18 to 75 age group, followed by screening of the high risk population for potential carbohydrate metabolism disorders using laboratory tests.
