Methods: We describe 2 cases of infection in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients, and we performed a literature review of immunocompromised patients without HIV.

Results: Fifty-two cases are reported.

Reactogenicity among health care workers following a BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273 second dose after priming with a ChAdOx1 nCOV-19 vaccine.

Objectives: In March 2021, French authorities recommended a heterologous second dose of the mRNA vaccine for persons aged <55 years, with administration 9 to 12 weeks after the first dose of ChAdOx1 nCoV-19. This recommendation was despite a lack of data on the reactogenicity and safety of the regimen. Since then, several studies have shown an acceptable short-term safety profile of ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 and BNT162b2 heterologous vaccination, although some transient increased reactogenicity has been described.

Tolerance of BNT162b2 mRNA COVI-19 vaccine in patients with a medical history of COVID-19 disease: A case control study.

Introduction: Studies evaluating BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 vaccine safety excluded subjects with a previous history of COVID-19 infection. The aim of our study was to focus on the tolerance of this vaccine this population.

Methods: An anonymous self-reporting survey related to safety and tolerance of vaccine was completed by subjects 21 to 28 days after the first vaccine dose in two vaccination centers.

Background: Vaccine hesitancy in healthcare workers has been increasing especially in France while they are the cornerstone of vaccination programs. Greater understanding of healthcare students (HCS) vaccine knowledge, attitudes and beliefs is necessary to provide an adequate vaccination education to better equip them to promote vaccination in their future careers. The aim of this study was to assess vaccination perception (VP) (perception of benefits and risks of vaccines) and its impact on vaccination coverage (VC) for mandatory and recommended vaccines among HCS.

Gastrointestinal involvement in adult IgA vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein purpura): updated picture from a French multicentre and retrospective series of 260 cases.

Objectives: To describe the clinical presentation, treatments and prognosis of gastrointestinal (GI) involvement in adult IgA vasculitis (IgAV).

Methods: Data from 260 adults with IgAV included in a French multicentre retrospective survey were analysed. Presentation and outcomes of patients with (GI+) and without (GI-) GI involvement were compared.

Subcutaneously administered antibiotics.

The subcutaneous route is a widely used route of administration in routine clinical practice, particularly in elderly patients, when the intravenous route cannot be used. This review of the literature highlights the lack of randomized studies and the lack of pharmacokinetic data on the use of this route of administration. Three antibiotics administered subcutaneously can be used for severe infections, with acceptable pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data, when the intravenous administration is not possible: ceftriaxone, ertapenem, and teicoplanin.

Assessing the relevance of carbapenem prescriptions by an antibiotic stewardship team.

Objectives: To assess the level and factors of compliance of carbapenem prescriptions with guidelines and to determine the impact of an antibiotic stewardship team in a university hospital.

Patients And Methods: Five-month prospective study in the intensive care, surgery, and medicine units to measure the compliance of carbapenem prescriptions with guidelines from French scientific societies; compliance was assessed by an infectious disease specialist warned by the pharmacy, and the prescribers' compliance with the infectious disease specialist's advice was then assessed.

Results: One hundred and four treatment initiations for 94 patients were included.

Isolated Cerebral Alveolar Echinococcosis.

Cerebral alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is rare and mostly associated with liver involvement. We report an exceptional case of a 62-year-old man with a hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia harboring a primary cerebral AE mimicking neurocysticercosis with >100 cerebral lesions and without liver involvement.

High mortality in peritonitis due to Mycobacterium avium complex: retrospective study and systematic literature review.

Background: Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection is often disseminated and mainly involves lymph nodes, spleen, liver or bone marrow. Peritonitis due to MAC infection (PMAC) is a very uncommon manifestation.

Methods: In this report, after describing the case of the only PMAC infection in our 10-year retrospective study, which occurred in an AIDS patient who was non-adherent to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), we performed a systematic literature review of documented bacteriological PMAC.

Interest of immunodeficiency screening in adult after admission in medical intensive care unit for severe infection, a retrospective and a prospective study: the Intensive Care Unit and Primary and Secondary Immunodeficiency (ICUSPID) study.

Background: Primary immunodeficiency (PID) in adults is rare and mostly revealed by infections.

Material And Methods: Adults without predisposing factors who were admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) for infection were screened for PID.

Results: Six PID cases were diagnosed, mostly revealed by encapsulated bacterial infections.

Thoracic splenosis mimicking a pleuropneumonia: A case report.

Rationale: Splenosis is the development of one or more heterotopic splenic tissue autoimplants following rupture of the spleen and remains mostly asymptomatic.

Patient Concerns: We report a case of a 50-year old post-traumatic splenectomized man admitted for a left side community acquired pneumonia resistant to antibiotics.

Diagnoses: The diagnosis of intrathoracic ectopic spleen was suspected because of the history of spleen trauma with diaphragm rupture and the absence of Howell-Jolly bodies.

Is it relevant to screen young women hospitalized in psychiatric department for neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE)?: A prospective study of 100 psychiatric inpatients.

On the basis that diagnosis of neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is sometimes difficult and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can present with isolated psychiatric symptoms, we initiated a survey in a psychiatric department to screen for NPSLE in young female inpatients.We prospectively studied consecutive young female patients referred to the department of psychiatry. Antinuclear antibodies (ANA), anti-deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and antiextractable soluble nuclear antigens (ENA) in the serum of patients were screened.

Multiple cranial neuropathies following zoledronic acid infusion: a relationship? Clinical features and pathogenic discussion concerning a case.

The widespread use of bisphosphonates, especially in osteoporosis, has led to a greater number of reports of side effects. We describe for the first time a case of a 75-year-old female patient with a history of indolent sicca syndrome who developed multiple cranial neuropathies after zoledronic acid infusion. In this case, the elimination of the main causes of multiple cranial neuropathies, the chronology with zoledronic acid infusion, the absence of secondary complications of the Sjögren's syndrome, reported cases of similar peripheral nerve injuries with interferon infusions, the spontaneous remission of this multiple cranial neuropathy in parallel with the induced flu-like syndrome, argue for its iatrogenic origin, probably by a great release of inflammatory mediators in this particular background of primary Sjögren's syndrome.

[Interest of an intensive chemotherapy for intravascular large B cell lymphoma].

We describe three cases of intravascular lymphoma B with different clinical presentation: one case of a cutaneous variant and two cases with surrenal and cutaneous localisation. All patients are in complete remission after chemotherapy alone or after chemotherapy and autologous stem cells transplantation. The review of the literature as well as our cases specify the interest of an aggressive chemotherapy with autologous of peripheral stem cells if it was possible.
