The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of synthesis parameters and surface finish on the corrosion of DMLS-printed M300 steel components and to evaluate their applicability in corrosive environments. In order to assess the influence of the corrosive environment, potentiodynamic and long-term corrosion tests were carried out in this study, together with microscopic and EDS studies on 3D-printed M300 steel samples synthetized using the DMLS method with different laser powers. The results show that DMLS-produced M300 steel is vulnerable to corrosion in corrosive environments.

The results of experimental and numerical studies of plastic forming of sheets made of the difficult-to-deform Hastelloy X, a nickel-based alloy with a thickness of 1 mm, using layered elastomeric punches and steel dies, are presented in this publication. The elastomeric punches were characterized by hardness in the range of 50-90 Shore A, while the dies were made of 90MnCrV8 steel with a hardness of over 60 HRC. The principle of operating the stamping die was based on the Guerin method.

This article presents the results of testing the suitability of X-ray computed tomography for the quality control of the casting moulds used for producing turbine blades. The research was focused on the analysis of cross-sectional images, spatial models and the porosity of moulds using a Phoenix L 450 microtomograph. The research material consisted of samples from three mixtures of ceramic materials and binders intended for producing casting moulds using the lost wax method.

The article presents the results of numerical simulations and experimental tests of plastic forming sheets made from the difficult-to-deform nickel alloy Inconel 718 with a thickness of 1 mm, using punches made from elastomeric materials with hardness 50-90 Shore A and steel dies. Elastomeric stamps were created in the form of five layers with a diameter of 160 mm. The influence of the hardness of the elastomeric punches on the geometry of the elements obtained was determined.

The paper presents the numerical and experimental results of research aimed at determining the influence of hardness in the range of 50-90 Shore A of layered tools composed of elastomeric materials on the possibility of forming Inconel 625 nickel-based alloy sheets. In this study, we report a rich variety of large-intensity pulses exhibited by a Zeeman laser model. The instabilities in the system occur via three different dynamical processes, such as quasiperiodic intermittency, Pomeau-Manneville intermittency, and the breakdown of quasiperiodic motion to chaos followed by an interior crisis. This Zeeman laser model is more capable of exploring the major possible types of instabilities when changing a specific system's parameter in a particular range.

Fusarium head blight (FHB), caused mainly by Fusarium graminearum, is one of the most dangerous diseases of durum wheat. This hemibiotrophic pathogen transitions from the biotrophic phase, during which it penetrates host tissues and secretes trichothecenes, to the necrotrophic phase which leads to the destruction of host tissues. Yeasts applied to spikes often reduce mycotoxin concentrations, but the underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated.

A discontinuous transition to hyperchaos is observed at discrete critical parameters in the Zeeman laser model for three well known nonlinear sources of instabilities, namely, quasiperiodic breakdown to chaos followed by interior crisis, quasiperiodic intermittency, and Pomeau-Manneville intermittency. Hyperchaos appears with a sudden expansion of the attractor of the system at a critical parameter for each case and it coincides with triggering of occasional and recurrent large-intensity pulses. The transition to hyperchaos from a periodic orbit via Pomeau-Manneville intermittency shows hysteresis at the critical point, while no hysteresis is recorded during the other two processes.

The extrusion of hollow profiles from hard-deformable AlZnMg alloys by using porthole dies encounters great technological difficulties in practice. High extrusion force accompanies the technological process, which is caused by high deformation resistance and high friction resistance in extrusion conditions. Backround: Dabigatran is a direct thrombin inhibitor used to treat cardiac arrhythmias, and rates of non-adherence to dabigatran in Polish populations are high. The current study examined how a pharmacist-led intervention of counselling with pictogram-enhanced medication instructions, and smartphone medication reminders, can improve adherence to dabigatran.

Methods: A 3-month pharmacist-led intervention was conducted in community pharmacies in Poland on 325 men and women filling a dabigatran prescription for the first time.

Background: The tall wheatgrass species Thinopyrum elongatum carries a strong fusarium head blight (FHB) resistance locus located on the long arm of chromosome 7 (7EL) as well as resistance to leaf and stem rusts, all diseases with a significant impact on wheat production. Towards understanding the contribution of Th. elongatum 7EL to improvement of disease resistance in wheat, the genomic sequence of the 7EL fragment present in the wheat Chinese Spring (CS) telosomic addition line CS-7EL was determined and the contribution and impact of 7EL on the rachis transcriptome during FHB infection was compared between CS and CS-7EL.

We report intermittent large-intensity pulses that originate in Zeeman laser due to instabilities in quasiperiodic motion, one route follows torus-doubling to chaos and another goes via quasiperiodic intermittency in response to variation in system parameters. The quasiperiodic breakdown route to chaos via torus-doubling is well known; however, the laser model shows intermittent large-intensity pulses for parameter variation beyond the chaotic regime. During quasiperiodic intermittency, the temporal evolution of the laser shows intermittent chaotic bursting episodes intermediate to the quasiperiodic motion instead of periodic motion as usually seen during the Pomeau-Manneville intermittency.

The tall wheatgrass species carries on the long arm of chromosome 7E, a locus that contributes strongly to resistance to fusarium head blight (FHB), a devastating fungal disease affecting wheat crops in all temperate areas of the world.
