In mice with acute and chronic models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a quantitative study of the dynamics of CSF-1 and IL-34 protein levels in the spinal cord and blood plasma was conducted by ELISA and the specificity of CSF-1 expression in spinal cord cells was examined by immunohistological methods. A significant increase in the level of CSF-1 in the spinal cord was detected and populations of motoneurons with intense CSF-1 immunoreactivity were identified in mice with acute and chronic EAE. The obtained results suggest a possible role of CSF-1 in the pathogenesis and progression of EAE/multiple sclerosis.

We present the results of the spectral line-shape study of the first measurement of the extremely weak (7-0) band of the CO molecule. Measurements were done with a highly sensitive cavity ring-down spectrometer. Collisional narrowing, analyzed in terms of speed-dependent effects, was observed for the first time for transitions with line intensities below 2⋅10 cm/molecule at 296 K.

The air-broadened lines from the oxygen B band were measured for the first time in controlled laboratory conditions with a high signal-to-noise ratio using frequency-stabilized cavity ring-down spectroscopy (FS-CRDS) referenced to the optical frequency comb. Spectra measured at various pressures and temperatures were analyzed with an advanced line-shape model, considering the speed-dependence of collisional broadening and shift, and the effect of velocity-changing collisions. The temperature dependence of collisional broadening and shift is determined, whereas no significant temperature dependence of speed-dependent parameters and Dicke narrowing was observed.

Intensities of 14 lines in the sixth overtone (7-0) band of carbon monoxide (12C16O) are measured in the visible range between 14 300 and 14 500 cm-1 using a frequency-stabilized cavity ring-down spectrometer. This is the first observation of such a high and weak overtone spectrum of the CO molecule. A theoretical model is constructed and tested based on the use of a high accuracy ab initio dipole moment curve and a semi-empirical potential energy curve.

In engineering practice, a problem is quite often faced in which the number of unknown parameters exceeds the number of conditions or requirements or, otherwise, there are too many requirements for too few parameters to design. Such under- or over-defined tasks are sometimes not possible to solve using a direct approach. The number of solutions to such problems is multiple, and it is most rational to search for the optimal one by numerical methods since the more unknown design parameters there are to be designed, the more potential solutions there are.

We performed a quantitative study of the neuronal population in the spinal cord of mice with acute and chronic model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. Immunohistological/immunofluorescent analysis with motor neuron marker ChAT revealed a significant decrease in the number of motor neurons in the ventral horns of the lumbar spinal cord in the acute form of autoimmune encephalomyelitis, with the further appearance of large empty (containing no motor neurons) areas in the ventral horns in the chronic form. The development of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis is accompanied by degradation and death of neurons, in particular ChAT motor neurons.

For quality, interpretation, reproducibility and sharing value, microscopy images should be accompanied by detailed descriptions of the conditions that were used to produce them. Micro-Meta App is an intuitive, highly interoperable, open-source software tool that was developed in the context of the 4D Nucleome (4DN) consortium and is designed to facilitate the extraction and collection of relevant microscopy metadata as specified by the recent 4DN-BINA-OME tiered-system of Microscopy Metadata specifications. In addition to substantially lowering the burden of quality assurance, the visual nature of Micro-Meta App makes it particularly suited for training purposes.

The literature data of the reaction of haemostatic system to antidepressants from the group of selective inhibitors of serotonin reuptake are summarized. The development of haemorrhagic complications is analyzed. The risk/benefit ratio is estimated for the treatment of depression in patients with acute myocardial infarction and stroke.

There are two alternative points of view in the current literature addressing the mechanisms of ethyl alcohol effects on cells. A historically first appeared hypothesis of ethanol influence on living systems is based on the physical-chemical background and described the membrane-associated and intracellular biochemical events as a consequence of changes in the membrane state. In opposite, the attempts exist to differentiate the "specific action" of alcohol on separate neurochemical systems.

Today thousands of scientific publications in the field of receptology are dedicated to allosteric regulation of receptors. Biochemical events in cardiovascular, nerve, immune, endocrine, and other systems are based on various allosteric processes. Many of pharmaceuticals exert their action via allosteric regulation of receptive structures.

An integral chip (IC) was designed for controlling the step-down pulse voltage converter, which is based on the multiphase pulse-duration modulation, for use in biomedical microprocessor systems. The CMOS technology was an optimal basis for the IC designing. An additional feedback circuit diminishes the output voltage dispersion at dynamically changing loads.

The literature data devoted to endogenous allosteric regulators of membrane bound receptors are summarized in the present review. The allosteric processes are classified to (i) cooperative interaction, (ii) nonspecific, (iii) functional, and (iv) specific regulations according to target topography in a receptor. The specific endogenous allosteric regulators are described for GABAA, NMDA, muscarinic, nicotinic, serotonin, and opioid receptors.

The ability of thyroliberin (TRH) to interact with opioid receptors (OR) was studied using radioligand analysis. TRH did not influence specific binding of [3H]-naloxone, but increased affinity of high affinity binding sites for the ligand in a dose-dependent manner. TRH also decreased affinity of low- affinity binding sites.
