Endosurgical correction of the uterus was carried out in 57 patients. Indications for surgery were improper positions of the uterus-retroversio, retrodeviatio uteri, excessive mobility of the uterus, and complaints of heaviness at the bottom of the abdomen, leukorrhea, pain of different type in the lower portions of the abdomen, profuse and long menses, dyspareunic pain upon deep penetration, reduced libido, a sensation of a foreign body in the vaginal cleft, urine incontinence upon strain. The mean age of the patients was 35 +/- 3 years.

A reliable reduction (p < 0.001) of blood phosphatidyl inosites were seen in endometriosis patients as against normal subjects.

A reliable reduction of the content of phosphatidyl inositides and phosphatidyl inositide-S-phosphates was observed in all formed elements of the blood, the most marked decrease being observed in endometrial cancer. On the contrary, the content of phosphatidyl inositide-4-phosphates and phosphatidyl inositide-4.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA method of flow horizontal chromatography has been developed permitting investigation of blood and tissue cellular phospholipids ruling out lipid peroxidation effects on cellular membranes. Phospholipid levels of blood and myometrial tissue cells were measured by this method in 67 patients with histologically verified internal endometriosis. Phospholipid and phosphatidyl inosite levels in platelets and immunocompetent cells of these patients reliably differed from those in healthy women.

The authors analyze the data of ultrasonic examinations in 110 patients operated on for adenomyosis and in 50 patients with this condition not exposed to surgery, in whom the diagnosis was made after comprehensive examinations. The accuracy of ultrasonic diagnosis correlated with the disease severity. Diagnostic difficulties are explained by the absence of pathognomonic echographic criteria, frequent associations with myoma, and with false echo signals emerging in the myometrium.

Rapid reversible blood phospholipid changes were observed when these patients' red cells and lymphocytes were incubated with calcium chloride. Time course of rapid changes in phosphoinosites, sphyngomyelines, phosphatidylserines, phosphlatidylethanolamines of patients' red and white blood cells, whole blood, and myometrial tissue differed significantly from that in healthy women.

Blood levels of phosphatidyl inosites were found reliably decreased in the patients vs. normal subjects, whereas their levels in myometrial tissue were significantly increased.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors analyze the results of comprehensive examinations and treatment of 79 patients with corporal isthmic adenomyosis. Comprehensive examinations making use of clinical, instrumental (hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography, echography), biochemical (measurements of blood and myometrial phosphatidylinosites), and morphologic methods are needed for a reliable diagnosis of this condition. Blood phosphatidylinosite measurements may be used as an objective test to assess the efficacy of hormonal therapy.

The highest frequency of postpartum ++pyo-septic diseases was found in females with hyperlactation. There was earlier appearance of foremilk and milk in these females.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFollicle-stimulating, luteinizing hormone and prolactin secretion has been evaluated with a radioimmunoassay at less than or equal to 5 years following a first-trimester abortion. Pituitary prolactin secretion was found to be most affected by abortion (96% of observations).

The autonomic nervous system has been examined in 271 patients with a history of first-trimester induced abortion. It was ascertained that induced abortion affected the autonomic nervous system, thus impairing adaptive potentials and entailing the onset or aggravation of preexisting autonomic vascular dystonia.

There was an increase in beta-endorphin-like immunoreactivity after alpha-tocopherol administration. Naloxone administration to 9 patients with algomenorrhea of various etiology resumed the pain.
