Polydopamine (PDA), as a material mimicking the adhesive proteins of mussels in nature, has emerged as a strong candidate for developing novel antibacterial and anti-inflammatory materials due to its outstanding biomimetic adhesion, effective photothermal conversion, excellent biocompatibility and antioxidant capabilities. This review discussed in detail the intricate structure and polymerization principles of PDA, elucidated its mechanisms in combating bacterial infections and inflammation, as well as explored the innovative use of PDA-based composite materials for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory applications. By providing an in-depth analysis of PDA's capabilities and future research directions, this review addresses a crucial need for safer, more effective, and controllable antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory strategies, which aim to contribute to the development of advanced materials that can significantly impact public health.

Studies have shown that circRNAs play an important regulatory role in trophoblast function and embryonic development. Based on sequencing and functional experiments, we found that hsa_circ_0069443 can regulate the function of trophoblast cells, and its presence is found in the exosomes secreted by trophoblast cells. It is known that exosomes mediate the interaction between the uterus and embryo, which is crucial for successful pregnancy.

Herein, a multifunctional nanohybrid (PL@HPF nanoparticles) was fabricated to perform the integration of chemodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy, and biological therapy over the long term at a designed location for continuous antibacterial applications. The PL@HPF nanoparticles consisted of a polydopamine/hemoglobin/Fe nanocomplex with comodification of tetrazole/alkene groups on the surface as well as coloading of antimicrobial peptides and luminol in the core. During therapy, the PL@HPF nanoparticles would selectively cross-link to surrounding bacteria via tetrazole/alkene cycloaddition under chemiluminescence produced by the reaction between luminol and overexpressed HO at the infected area.

Although conductive hydrogel-based flexible electronic devices have superb flexibility and high conductivities, they tend to malfunction in dry or frigid areas. Herein, an ultralow-temperature tolerant, antidrying, and conductive composite hydrogel is designed for electronic skin applications on the basis of the synergy of double-cross-linked polymer networks, Hofmeister effect, and electrostatic interaction and fabricated by in situ free radical polymerization of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid and acrylic acid in the presence of poly(vinyl alcohol) and conductive MXene sheets, followed by impregnation with LiCl. Thanks to the synergy of LiCl and the charged polar terminal groups of the synthesized polymers, the composite hydrogel can not only bear an ultralow temperature of -80 °C without freezing but also maintain its original mass.

This paper focuses on the characterization of the physico-chemical properties, surface modification, residual copper content and in situ hybrid inorganic particle modification of polypropylene (PP) composites reinforced by waste printed circuit board powder (WPCBP). A series of WPCBP/SiO hybrids (TSW) were prepared by a sol-gel method at different pH values. Characterization results revealed the in situ generation of SiO on the surface of WPCBP, and showed that with an increase in pH value, the size of SiO particles increased gradually and the copper content decreased in the TSW powder.

Although our previous studies revealed that H2BE exhibited significantly differential expression between two CHB TCM-syndromes: Spleen-stomach dampness-heat syndrome, SSDHS and liver-depression spleen-deficiency syndrome, LDSDS, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. Recent studies showed that dynamic expression fluctuation of Th related cytokines in CHB TCM-syndromes, and furthermore, their expression levels were largely regulated by H2BE. This study aims to detect the expression level differences of Th related cytokines between these two TCM-syndromes and further investigate the underlying regulatory mechanisms.
