We have previously reported that high-alcohol-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae (HiAlc Kpn) in the gut can cause endo-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Here, we discover that 91.2% of Kpn isolates from pulmonary disease samples also produce excess ethanol, which may be associated with respiratory disease severity.

A year has gone by, and it is still hard to believe that Dr. Shuying Liu had left us on November 22, 2023. Most her colleagues and friends remember vividly her passionate images captured in the talk she filmed for the Chinese Mass Spectrometry Conference 2020-2023 in June 2023.

Methods: Expression analysis was conducted by RT-qPCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays.
Hydrogels present significant potential in flexible materials designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, attributed to their soft, stretchable mechanical properties and water-rich porous structures. Unfortunately, EMI shielding hydrogels commonly suffer from low mechanical properties, deficient fracture energy, and low strength, which limit the serviceability of these materials in complex mechanical environments. In this study, the double network strategy is successfully utilized along with the Hofmeister effect to create MXene/PAA (polyacrylic acid)-CS (chitosan) hydrogels and further strengthen and toughen the gel with (NH)SO solution.

The scarcity of early environmental monitoring and supervision technologies, particularly the lack of effective real-time monitoring mechanisms and feedback systems, has hindered the timely quantitative identification of potential early-stage environmental risks. This study aims to comprehensively review the literature and analyze the research context and shortcomings of the advance warning technologies of power transmission and distribution projects construction period using the integrated space-sky-ground system approach.

The evolution of insect metamorphosis has profoundly influenced their successful adaptation and diversification. Two key physiological processes during insect metamorphosis are notable: wing maturation and prothoracic gland (PG) histolysis. The ecdysone-induced protein 93 (E93) is a transcription factor indispensable for metamorphosis.

However, the precise contribution of CD146⁺ endothelial cells to RIF remains unclear. This study aimed to observe and detect the relationship between CD146 expression and endothelial cells and to explore the role and possible mechanism of CD146 promoting endothelial-mesenchymal transition in RIF.

Macrophage-induced inflammatory responses and accumulation of excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) primarily induce unstable plaques. Therefore, targeting ROS clearance and functional modulation of macrophages are clinically crucial for improving plaque stability and inhibiting AS progression.

For an extended period, the involvement of intestinal flora in the progression of depression has been widely acknowledged. However, it remains unclear whether RB-RPA could modulate intestinal microbiota disturbances and metabolic abnormalities induced by depression.

To improve the temperature stability of the scale factor of MEMS gyroscopes, a self-compensation method is proposed. This is achieved by integrating the primary and secondary relevant parameters of the scale factor using the partial least squares regression (PLSR) algorithm.

Renalase has been identified as having renal-protective properties. A key contributor to albuminuria in DN patients is podocyte loss.

The original bits are coded by polar and mapped into constellation symbols by sparse code. Then orthogonal chirp division multiplexing (OCDM) modulation is adopted which has better anti-interference ability than orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM).

The nonlinear dynamic nature of AD pathophysiology suggested that multiple pharmacological actions of anti-AD drugs should be elucidated. 9-Methylfascaplysin (9-MF) was previously designed and synthesized as a novel anti-AD candidate.

Objective: In this study, an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC- MS/MS) method was prepared and verified to measure the concentrations of seven analytes (bergapten, xanthotoxol, xanthotoxin, imperatorin, osthole, isopimpinellin, isoimperatorin) in HepG2 cells.
Methods: The separation of seven analytes was performed on an ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 column (2.
Objectives: Coordinated care plans (CCPs) for high-cost health care system users aim to improve system-level performance. We evaluated health care resource use and costs among CCP patients (enrollees) versus a control group that did not receive coordinated care (comparators) in Southeastern Ontario.
Methods: A difference-in-differences analysis of a quasi-experimental, double propensity score-matched and adjusted cohort was conducted.
Cleavage stimulation factor subunit 2 (CSTF2) is a fundamental factor in the regulation of 3'-end cleavage and alternative polyadenylation of pre-mRNAs. Previous work has identified a tumor-promoting role of CSTF2, suggesting that it may represent a potential therapeutic target. Here, we aimed to elucidate the mechanistic function of CSTF2 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Purpose: To investigate the diagnostic performance of tomoelastography in assessing the VM status in HCC.
Primary renal osteosarcoma is an exceedingly rare subtype of renal malignancy, noted for its aggressive nature and often fatal outcome. The scarcity and severity of this condition have resulted in a dearth of reliable methods for early diagnosis and effective treatment. The present article contributes to the existing body of knowledge by presenting a comprehensive clinical case of a 46-year-old male patient with primary renal osteosarcoma.

While traditional strategies by lipid-reducing have reduced MACEs, many patients continue to face significant risks. It might attribute to the upregulation of CD47 expression in AS lesions, that mediated anti-efferocytosis of macrophages.

This includes a primary xanthophyll cycle comprised of diadinoxanthin and its de-epoxidation product diatoxanthin that enables the switch between light harvesting and non-photochemical quenching (NPQ)-mediated dissipation of light energy. The enzyme responsible for the reversal of this cycle was previously unknown.
