Hydrogels present significant potential in flexible materials designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, attributed to their soft, stretchable mechanical properties and water-rich porous structures. Unfortunately, EMI shielding hydrogels commonly suffer from low mechanical properties, deficient fracture energy, and low strength, which limit the serviceability of these materials in complex mechanical environments. In this study, the double network strategy is successfully utilized along with the Hofmeister effect to create MXene/PAA (polyacrylic acid)-CS (chitosan) hydrogels and further strengthen and toughen the gel with (NH)SO solution.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates whether LincRNA erythroid prosurvival (LncEPS) can reduce ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) by observing its effects in a mouse model subjected to mechanical ventilation.
  • Researchers used various methods, including gene expression analysis and transfection techniques, to evaluate the role of LncEPS in alveolar macrophages, focusing on its influence on macrophage polarization and inflammation pathways.
  • Results indicated that overexpressing LncEPS enhanced M2 macrophage polarization and inhibited the NLRP3 inflammasome activation, suggesting that LncEPS may alleviate VILI by interacting with heat shock protein Hspa5 to modulate inflammatory responses.

The scale factor of thermal sensitivity serves as a crucial performance metric for micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) gyroscopes, and is commonly employed to assess the temperature stability of inertial sensors. To improve the temperature stability of the scale factor of MEMS gyroscopes, a self-compensation method is proposed. This is achieved by integrating the primary and secondary relevant parameters of the scale factor using the partial least squares regression (PLSR) algorithm.

In this work, the polar coded sparse code multiple access (SCMA) scheme based on chaotic scrambled selective mapping (CS_SLM) is proposed for future passive optical networks (PONs). The original bits are coded by polar and mapped into constellation symbols by sparse code. Then orthogonal chirp division multiplexing (OCDM) modulation is adopted which has better anti-interference ability than orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM).
