Psychobiographical reflections on Viktor von Weizsäcker within the cultural framework of salutogenesis and medical anthropology.

This article explores the life of Viktor von Weizsäcker (VvW, 1886-1957), a German medical doctor, philosopher and founder of the Heidelberg School of Anthropological Medicine, from a psychobiographical and salutogenic perspective. The authors use salutogenesis and sense of coherence (SOC), and take crucial cultural, historical, and socio-structural frameworks into account to explore the life during the 19 and 20 Centuries in Germany. They present the exploration of a strong SOC in the life of VvW and show how SOC is created within the tight family bonds of the family clan, which has produced many extraordinary theologists, philosophers, scientists and politicians over six generations.

[Councelling regarding prenatal diagnostic: a model project to enhance cooperation between medical and psychosocial consultants].

Although according to section 2 of the Pregnancy Conflicts Law, there is a legal claim to psychosocial counselling and although its benefit has been proven empirically, pregnant women rarely draw upon it in the context of prenatal diagnostics (PND). One of the reasons is probably that physicians are not sufficiently aware of this counselling offer. By means of the model project "Interprofessional quality circles in prenatal diagnostics" an attempt was made to counteract this deficit.

The unexpected in primary care: a multicenter study on the emergence of unvoiced patient agenda.

Purpose: Within the time constraints of a typical physician-patient encounter, the full patient agenda will rarely be voiced. Unexpectedly revealed issues that were neither on the patient's list of items for discussion nor anticipated by the physician constitute an emerging agenda. We aimed to quantify the occurrence rate of emerging agendas in primary care practices and to explain the variation between patients and practices.
