Objective: In adults with sleep complaints, we assessed the software of automatic analysis of mandibular movements to identify sleep and wake states by confrontation with the polysomnography (PSG) and the actigraphy (ACTG).
Material And Methods: Simultaneous and synchronized in-lab PSG, ACTG, and JAWAC were carried out in 100 patients with a sleep complaint. Epoch by epoch analysis was realized to assess the ability to sleep-wake distinction.
A series of benzofuran-based N-benzylpyridinium derivatives 5a-o were designed and synthesized as novel AChE inhibitors. The synthetic pathway of the compounds involved the preparation of 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)pyridine intermediates via the reaction of different salicylaldehyde derivatives and 4-(bromomethyl)pyridine, followed by intramolecular cyclization. Subsequently, the 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)pyridines were N-benzylated by using appropriate benzyl bromide to afford the final product 5a-o.

Steelworkers are exposed to many pollutants, and they are at risk for developing lung cancer. We demonstrated previously that steelworkers may be subject to an occult exposure to amphiboles in the plant environment. In the current study, we further analyzed bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of steelworkers by measuring intramacrophagic trace-metal content and nonfibrous mineral particles, using the particle-induced x-ray emission method and electron microscopy, respectively.
