We present the case of a 45-year-old female patient who harbored two synchronous primary malignant neoplasms-an anaplastic oligodendroglioma of the right frontal lobe and a squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. Both neoplasms were in advanced stage and carried a dismal prognosis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first documentation in the english literature of such a presentation.

Aims: The present study has been undertaken to evaluate behavioural and psychosocial impacts before and after treatment of women with breast cancer.
Settings And Design: The study was carried out in a reputed hospital in Delhi.

In this paper, we report the physical and spectroscopic properties of Er(3+), Sm(3+) and Er(3+):Sm(3+) ions codoped barium fluorotellurite (BFT) glasses. Different Stokes and anti-Stokes emissions were observed under 532 nm and 976 nm laser excitations. Energy transfer from Er(3+) ion to Sm(3+) ion was confirmed on the basis of luminescence intensity variation and decay curve analysis in both the cases.

These tumors belong to the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors. They occur in bones and variety of soft tissues of chest wall, pelvis, paravertebral region, and lower extremities.

Methods: A total of 70 women with genital tuberculosis who underwent second-look hysteroscopy were enrolled in the study. They were started on antitubercular drugs and followed up after 6 months of therapy with second-look hysteroscopy.
Introduction: Association of cutaneous metastasis with cervical carcinoma is a rare finding, with only a few case reports in literature.
Case Report: Herein, we report a case of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, which later presented as widespread skin metastases on the surgical scar as an initial sign of recurrent disease.
Conclusion: In conclusion, incisional cutaneous and vulval metastasis is a rarity with cancer cervix and is considered as an ominous prognostic sign with a short survival after diagnosis.
The solubilization of a poorly water-soluble antiepileptic drug, carbamazepine (CBZ), in a series of micelle-forming PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymers with combinations of blocks having different molecular weight was studied. The drug solubility and micelle-water partition coefficient (P) were determined using UV-vis spectroscopy. Dynamic light scattering on copolymer solutions was used to measure size and polydispersity of nanoaggregates.

Case Report: We report a rare case of tuberculosis (TB) flare in a 28-year-old nulliparous woman following endometrial aspiration (EA), which drained 30 ml pus. Following this, she developed high-grade fever with pain abdomen, guarding and rigidity.
Background: The incidence of breast cancer is on the rise in India, breast cancer is the second most common malignancy in Indian women.
Aim: The aim of this study was to find out the association of various risk factors with breast cancer among women in Delhi.
Settings And Design: This was a case-control study in Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi.
The unprecedented increase in preclinical studies necessitates high-throughput, inexpensive, and straightforward methods for evaluating diseased tissues. Near-infrared imaging of live subjects is a versatile, cost-effective technology that can be effectively used in a variety of pathologic conditions. We have characterized an inexpensive optoelectronic chemical, IR-820, as an infrared blood pool contrast agent to detect and quantify diseased tissue in live animals.

We have generated a bicistronic Cre/LoxP reporter mouse line that pairs the expression of firefly luciferase with quantifiable expression of a human placental alkaline phosphatase that is secreted into the serum (SeAP). With the use of this dual-modality bioreporter with a novel, inducible Pax7-CreER line for tracking muscle satellite cells, we demonstrate the longitudinal kinetics of muscle stem cell turnover, accounting for a doubling of the signal from satellite cell and progeny every 3.

Here we report the case of a 50-year old menopausal patient with gastric tumour presenting with solitary metastasis to the ovary within 5 months of primary gastric surgery, for which total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was done. This case stresses the urgent need for early detection and surveillance of treatable tumours metastasising to the ovary.

Some PNETs occur in the brain, while others (the peripheral PNETs) occur in sites outside the brain, such as in the extremities, pelvis and the chest wall. They mostly originate in the chest, pelvis and retroperitoneum; in rare cases, occurrence in the head and neck area has also been seen.

Among breast cancer patients, lower serum levels of Sex hormone binding globulin and higher levels of testosterone were observed. Sex hormone binding globulin showed an inverse relationship with testosterone and total cholesterol, and a direct relation with HDL-cholesterol.

Maximum conidial germination inhibition of E. pisi on glass slides was observed at 300 ppm.

Although some genetic mutations cause obvious morphological change, other mutations can be more subtle and, without adequate observation and quantification, might be overlooked. For the increasing number of genetic model organisms examined by the growing field of phenomics, standardized but sensitive methods for quantitative analysis need to be incorporated into routine practice to effectively acquire and analyze ever-increasing quantities of phenotypic data.

Introduction: Induced abortion is the most controversial area of family planning and it is often the most important method of fertility regulation by a community to control family size. Although abortion has been greatly liberalized, the annual number of legal abortions performed in India is 0.5 million of the annual estimated 6 million abortions.
