OPTIMAL ANALGESIA FOR BREAST SURGERY ENHANCED RECOVERY IN DAY SURGERY.

Aesthetic breast surgery is the most common body surgery at Bagatin Polyclinic. During 2020 and 2021, altogether 274 cosmetic surgeries were performed on the breasts. This included breast augmentation, breast augmentation and lifting operations, in a ratio of 2 to 1.

ABO BLOOD GROUP GENOTYPES IN WOMEN WITH BREAST CANCER.

ABO blood group is a risk factor for several cancers, but it is not clear yet whether the risk of breast cancer is greater in particular ABO blood type carriers. The aim of this case-control study was to examine the correlation between ABO blood group genotypes, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2 status as tumor grade markers (I-III), and the occurrence of breast cancer. The research included 59 patients with invasive breast cancer and 80 asymptomatic, healthy women, blood donors.

Antioxidative and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Chrysin and Naringenin in a Drug-Induced Bone Loss Model in Rats.

Oxidative stress (OS) mediators, together with the inflammatory processes, are considered as threatening factors for bone health. The aim of this study was to investigate effects of flavonoids naringenin and chrysin on OS, inflammation, and bone degradation in retinoic acid (13cRA)-induced secondary osteoporosis (OP) in rats. We analysed changes in body and uterine weight, biochemical bone parameters (bone mineral density (BMD), bone mineral content (BMC), markers of bone turnover), bone geometry parameters, bone histology, OS parameters, biochemical and haematological parameters, and levels of inflammatory cytokines.

Comparison of Different Surgical Procedures with Local Infiltration Analgesia in Day Surgery.

Purpose of this study was assessing of local infiltration analgesia (LIA) with levobupivacaine on the trend of acute postoperative pain and outcome in individuals who underwent rhinoplasty procedure and abdominoplasty performed in general anaesthesia. The research was conducted on 60 patients, of which 30 patients underwent rhinoplasty procedure and the other 30 patients underwent abdominoplasty procedure in general anaesthesia with LIA in "Bagatin" Polyclinic in the time period between 01.01.

IMPACT OF LOCAL INFILTRATION ANESTHESIA ON POSTOPERATIVE PAIN MANAGEMENT AFTER RHINOPLASTY IN DAY CARE SURGERY.

Use of local infiltration anaesthesia with 2% lidocaine in combination with epinephrine 1/100000 in rhinoplasty and 0.25% levobupivacaine in this research as an adjunct to general anaesthesia is compared analysing the need for postoperative analgesia in rhinoplasty patients. 30 patients received lidocaine combined with epinephrine (LA) and other 30 patients received levobupivacaine (LB).

INFLUENCE OF LOCAL INFILTRATION ANALGESIA ON POSTOPERATIVE PAIN IN ABDOMINOPLASTY PATIENTS.

The aim of this study was the influence of local infiltrating analgesia with levobupivacaine on acute postoperative pain in patients that underwent abdominoplasty in day surgery. Local infiltration anesthesia is an injection of local anesthetic solution in painful areas. General anesthesia and tumescent fluid solution were performed in all patients.

The Beneficial Effect of Proanthocyanidins and Icariin on Biochemical Markers of Bone Turnover in Rats.

Nutrition is an important factor that influences bone metabolism, the endocrine and/or paracrine system, and bone-active mineral elements homeostasis. We studied antiosteoporotic effects of grape seed proanthocyanidins extract, icariin or alendronate (ALN) in retinoic acid-induced (13cRA) bone loss in rats. Proanthocyanidins and icariin have beneficial effects on bone health; they have improved the bone weight reduction, the length and the diameter of the bone, calcium, and phosphorus content in bone ash, bone mineral density (BMD), the biochemical markers of bone turnover and uterus atrophy induced by 13cRA.

Perioperative PAI-1 values in surgically treated colorectal carcinoma patients under low molecular weight heparin thromboprophylaxis.

Aim: We have monitored the perioperative changes of plasmatic values of plasminogen activator inhibitor -1 (PAI-1) in colorectal carcinoma patients depending on the stage of disease and the use of prophylactic low molecular weight heparin (LMWH).

Methods: One hundred 100 colorectal carcinoma patients (64 men and 36 women) with average age of 60, in two randomized groups. All patients were surgically treated using the same technique and in all cases adenocarcinoma was confirmed.

Subcutaneous sarcoidosis of the face.

Subcutaneous sarcoidosis (previously referred to as Darier-Roussy sarcoidosis) is an unusual and atypical form of sarcoidosis. It is characterized by formation of the noncaseating granulomas in the subcutaneous tissue with no other systemic manifestations present. Sometimes subcutaneous granulomas are the first sign of systemic sarcoidosis.

Combined vacuum-assisted closure treatment with laparoscopic mobilization of an omental flap and meshed skin grafts for reconstruction of infected sternotomy wounds: two cases.

In cardiac surgery, poststernotomy wounds are life threatening complications, with mortality up to 50%. We described two patients, who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting and postoperatively developed a deep sternal wound infection. Reconstruction was combined with vacuum-assisted closure treatment, laparoscopic mobilization of an omental flap and split thickens skin grafts.

Giant basal cell carcinoma of the back: a case report and review of the literature.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common cutaneous malignancy and the most common human malignancy in general. Out of all basal cell carcinomas, giant basal cell carcinoma represents less than 1%. Only 10% of all basal cell carcinomas are located on the trunk and majority is located on the head and neck.

Determination of spatial distribution of increase in bone temperature during drilling by infrared thermography: preliminary report.

Introduction: During the drilling of the bone, the temperature could increase above 47 degrees C and cause irreversible osteonecrosis. The spatial distribution of increase in bone temperature could only be presumed using several thermocouples around the drilling site. The aim of this study was to use infrared thermographic camera for determination of spatial distribution of increase in bone temperature during drilling.
