Clinical features and histopathological analysis of corneal myxoma.

To describe the presentation, histopathological characteristics, and management outcomes for corneal myxoma. This one-armed cohort study evaluated histologically confirmed consecutive cases of corneal myxoma. Data were evaluated on demographics, clinical presentation, management, histopathological and immunohistochemical features, and outcomes; visual acuity and corneal clarity.

Vision related quality of life of patients with keratoconus after keratoplasty at a Tertiary Eye Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Purpose: To assess the vision-related quality of life (VQoL) for patients with advanced keratoconus (KC) after primary keratoplasty.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study, undertaken at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in December 2015. Adults (aged 22-75 years) were interviewed via telephone with regard to their VQoL, on the average, 5 years after undergoing primary keratoplasty for advanced KC.

Familial Retinal Arterial Macroaneurysms with Peripheral Retinal Ischemia: A Characterization on Ultra-Widefield Fluorescein Angiography.

Retinal arterial macroaneurysm with supravalvular pulmonic stenosis (RAMSVPS), also known as familial retinal arterial macroaneurysm syndrome, is an autosomal recessive disorder associated with many life-threatening complications. The disease is characterized by progressive multiple retinal arterial macroaneurysms, retinal arterial beading, and recurrent vitreous hemorrhage. Here, we describe the first case of RAMSVPS associated with peripheral ischemia evident on ultra-widefield fluorescein angiography.

Outcomes of Corneal Topography among Progressive Keratoconus Patients 12 months following Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the overall and specific topographic changes among patients who underwent corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) due to progressive keratoconus.

Methods: This retrospective case series study was conducted at a single-arm hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. All progressive keratoconus patients who underwent CXL between January 2017 and December 2018 were included consecutively.

Future ophthalmology practice pattern: A survey of Saudi Board of Ophthalmology residents.

Purpose: The main purpose of the study was to examine and identify factors that influence the future practice pattern of Saudi Board of Ophthalmology residents as well as their academic goals. This study also aimed to compare the plans and career goals of the current Saudi ophthalmology residents with a former cohort of Saudi ophthalmology residents.

Methods: All current residents of Saudi Board of Ophthalmology were invited to complete an anonymous online survey in March 2017.
