Primary care physicians' knowledge and attitudes about obesity, adherence to treatment guidelines and its' association with confidence to treat obesity at the Saudi Ministry of Interior primary health care centers.

Background And Aim: Many primary care physicians (PCPs) believed that managing overweight and obesity is essential to their jobs, however, many believe that they were doing it ineffectively, unsatisfying, and had negative attitudes. We conducted this study to explore the knowledge, attitudes and adherence to obesity management guidelines, identify potential barriers that may prevent adherence of PCPs to obesity treatment guidelines.

Methods: We conducted this cross-sectional study and conducted a questionnaire sent via email to all PCPs in the Ministry of Interior centers in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, AlQassim, Wadi Ad Dawasir, Hail and Tabuk in Saudi Arabia.

The Prevalence of Electronic Cigarette Use Among College Students of Taibah University and Symptoms of Cardiovascular Disease.

Background: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have been increasing in popularity among young adults due to the misconception about the safety of e-cigarettes. Our study aims to identify the prevalence rate of e-cigarette use among college students, the reason behind their use, and the relationship between the use of electronic cigarettes and cardiovascular symptoms among college students.

Methods: An online questionnaire was sent to students of Taibah University between 2021 and 2022.

Uptake of COVID-19 Booster Dose among Saudi Arabian Population.

: Although several vaccines have been produced and administered around the world, new SARS-CoV-2 worsened the COVID-19 infection risk and impacted the initial vaccine dosage effectiveness. Based on studies indicating that the third and fourth COVID-19 vaccine doses significantly reduced COVID-19 transmission, Saudi Arabia has been administering COVID-19 booster vaccine doses to its citizens. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine booster in relation to the socio-demographic characteristics and other associated factors among the Saudi population.

Glycemic Variability in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Saudis Using Ambulatory Glucose Profile.

Background: Glucose variability (GV) is a common and challenging clinical entity in the management of people with type 1 diabetes (T1DM). The magnitude of GV in Saudi people with T1DM was not addressed before. Therefore, we aimed to study GV in a consecutive cohort of Saudis with T1DM.

The Prevalence of Shoulder Pain and Its Functional Limitations Among Patients With Uncontrolled Diabetes.

Objectives To investigate the prevalence of shoulder pain and its functional limitations among patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods This is a cross-sectional study that was conducted over a period of four months from October 2019 to January 2020 and included all patients with uncontrolled DM (HbA1c > 9) who are visiting the diabetes clinic at Security Forces Hospital during the study period. Telephone interviews were held by a physician from the Family Medicine Department using a previously validated questionnaire, that is, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Evaluation Form.
