Lifetime non-fatal overdose experiences among at-risk adolescents and young adults in the emergency department with past-year opioid use in the USA.

Background: Adolescents and young adults with risk factors for opioid misuse and opioid use disorder are at elevated risk for overdose. We examined prior non-fatal overdose experiences among at-risk adolescents/young adults to inform prevention efforts.

Methods: Adolescents/young adults (ages 16-30) in two US emergency departments self-reporting past year opioid misuse or opioid use plus a misuse risk factor completed a baseline survey as part of an ongoing randomised controlled trial.

Electronic Cigarette or Vaping-Associated Lung Injury Case Report.

Unlabelled: Electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) or vaping associated lung injury (EVALI) cases have increased with the popularity of e-cigarettes in the mostly young, healthy population. Some common symptoms associated with EVALI include shortness of breath and chest pain, and the most common diagnostic imaging findings are organizing pneumonia and diffuse alveolar damage seen on computed tomography (CT). Pneumomediastinum is a known sequela of EVALI.

Chronic pain through COVID.

Objectives: To identify good practice in the community management of chronic pain, and to understand the perspective of a group of healthcare service users towards the management of chronic pain using technology during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Forty-five people, recruited social media and Pain Association Scotland, participated in three focus groups hosted over Zoom. Focus groups were conducted using semi-structured questions to guide the conversation.

Phosphorus (P) is one of the key limiting nutrients for algal growth in most fresh surface waters. Understanding the determinants of P accumulation in the water column of lakes of interest, and the prediction of its concentration is important to water quality managers and other stakeholders. We hypothesized that lake physicochemical, climate, and watershed land-use attributes control lake P concentration.

Earlier winter/spring runoff and snowmelt during warmer winters lead to lower summer chlorophyll-a in north temperate lakes.

Winter conditions, such as ice cover and snow accumulation, are changing rapidly at northern latitudes and can have important implications for lake processes. For example, snowmelt in the watershed-a defining feature of lake hydrology because it delivers a large portion of annual nutrient inputs-is becoming earlier. Consequently, earlier and a shorter duration of snowmelt are expected to affect annual phytoplankton biomass.

Smartphone Applications Designed to Improve Older People's Chronic Pain Management: An Integrated Systematic Review.

(1) Background: Older people's chronic pain is often not well managed because of fears of side-effects and under-reporting. Telehealth interventions, in the form of smartphone applications, are attracting much interest in the management of chronic diseases, with new and evolving approaches in response to current population demographics. However, the extent to which telehealth interventions may be used to promote and effect the self-management of chronic pain is not established.

Predicting anoxia in low-nutrient temperate lakes.

Absence of dissolved oxygen (anoxia) in the hypolimnion of lakes can eliminate habitat for sensitive species and may induce the release of sediment-bound phosphorus. Lake anoxia generally results from decomposition of organic matter, which is exacerbated by high nutrient loads. Total phosphorus (TP) in lakes is regulated by static aspects of the lake's watershed, but lake TP can be readily increased by human activities.

Combination therapy with durvalumab, an anti-programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) antibody, and danvatirsen (AZD9150; an antisense oligonucleotide inhibiting signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 [STAT3]) or tremelimumab (an anti-cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 [CTLA-4] antibody) may augment endogenous antitumor activity.

Epstein-Barr virus-positive mucocutaneous ulcer: A unique case occurring in association with cholelithiasis in a gallbladder.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive mucocutaneous ulcer is a lymphoproliferative disorder occurring in patients due to iatrogenic or age-related immunosuppression confined to the oropharynx, skin, and gastrointestinal tract. Here, we report the first case to our knowledge of EBV-positive mucocutaneous ulcer occurring in a gallbladder.

However, attempts at this have had little success to date, suggesting that we need to better understand how this pathogen causes disease if effective targets are to be identified.

Impact and importance of a centralised review panel for lymphoma diagnostics in the WHO era: a single-centre experience.

Lymphoma diagnosis is complex, requiring a wide array of adjunctive tests to reach accurate diagnoses. We retrospectively examined the rates of concordance between referral and review lymphoma diagnoses on cases referred to St James's Hospital, Dublin for multidisciplinary team review between 2013 and 2016. Background: Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is an aggressive tumor, associated with poor prognosis. There is a lack of information about the clinical and pathological features related with survival in the Latin American population.

Methods: The MeSO-CLICaP registry identified 302 patients with advanced MPM diagnosed and treated between January 2008 and March 2016.

Moxetumomab pasudotox in relapsed/refractory hairy cell leukemia.

This is a pivotal, multicenter, open-label study of moxetumomab pasudotox, a recombinant CD22-targeting immunotoxin, in hairy cell leukemia (HCL), a rare B cell malignancy with high CD22 expression. The study enrolled patients with relapsed/refractory HCL who had ≥2 prior systemic therapies, including ≥1 purine nucleoside analog. Patients received moxetumomab pasudotox 40 µg/kg intravenously on days 1, 3, and 5 every 28 days for ≤6 cycles.

Influenza virus infection is now recognised as a risk factor for invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). Delays in diagnosis contribute to delayed commencement of antifungal therapy. Previous research has shown that restaurant menu design can influence food choices. However, it remains unknown whether such contextual effects on food selection are dependent on people's past behavior. In the present study, we focused on vegetarian food choices, given their important implications for the environment, and investigated whether the influence of different restaurant menus on the likelihood of selecting a vegetarian dish is moderated by the number of days on which people reported eating only vegetarian food during the previous week.
