Objective: building of a mathematical logit model for possible prediction of the outcome of surgical treatment bythe method of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients of different groups with coronary heart disease(CHD) based on myocardial viability (MV) assessment.

Material And Methods: To implement the set clinical tasks, 62 patients with coronary heart disease with preservedsystolic function and systolic dysfunction were examined. The mean age of the subjects was (59.

Objective: The aim: The aim of our study was to determine if digital breast tomosynthesis improves breast cancer detection associated with architectural distortion in comparison with full-field digital mammography in the absence of appropriate history of trauma or surgery.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The overall rate of breast cancer involvement for the 34 patients with architectural distortion was 15 cases (44,1%) (invasive breast cancers, n=12 (36,4%); ductal cancer in situ, n= 3 (8,8%)) other findings associated with architectural distortion were high-risk lesions and benign findings (radial scar, n=5 (14,7%); sclerosing adenosis, n=9 (26,5%); typical lobular hyperplasia, n=3 (8,8%); typical ductal hyperplasia, n=2 cases (5,9%)).

Results: Results: Overall of 17/34 (50.

Objective: The aim: Comparing sensitivity and specificity of digital breast tomosynthesis and full-field digital mammography in breast cancer detection associated with four different types of asymmetries according to BI-RADS Atlas.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Study included 201 patients with four types of asymmetries according BI-RADS atlas (asymmetry - 81 (40,3%), focal asymmetry - 82 (40,8%), global asymmetry - 36 (17,9%) and developing asymmetry - 2 (1,0%)) who underwent full-field digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis and hand-held full breast ultrasound from January 2017 to June 2018. The general rate of breast cancer for the 201 patients with asymmetries was 8 cases (4,0%) (IBC, n=6 (3,0%); DCIS, n=2 (1,0%) other findings associated with asymmetries were non-malignant, n=10 (5,0%) (sclerosing adenosis, n=5 (2,5%); fibroadenomatosis, n=3 (1,5%); simple cyst, n=1 (0,5%); radial scar associated with papilloma, typical ductal hyperplasia and sclerosing adenosis, n=1 (0,5%).

Article Synopsis
  • Hydropic Ear Disease (Menière) causes vertigo due to fluid buildup in the inner ear, known as endolymphatic hydrops (ELH), but reliable imaging has been limited to high-field MRI (3 T) until recent advancements.
  • This study explores the feasibility of imaging ELH using a lower magnetic field strength of 1.5 T and aims to create specific grading systems for cochlear and vestibular ELH.
  • A retrospective analysis of 30 patients revealed clear imaging results at 1.5 T, showing promise for wider use of this imaging method in clinical settings.

Aim: To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of digital breast tomosynthesis compared with full-field digital mammography in detection of breast cancer presenting as a mass in women with dense breasts. Маterials and Methods: This study included 347 asymptomatic and symptomatic patients with dense breasts who underwent full-field digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis and hand-held full breast ultrasound. 57 core-needle biopsies were performed.

In this research, the social behavior of the participants in a Prisoner's Dilemma laboratory game is explained on the basis of the quantal response equilibrium concept and the representation of the game in Markov strategies. In previous research, we demonstrated that social interaction during the experiment has a positive influence on cooperation, trust, and gratefulness. This research shows that the quantal response equilibrium concept agrees only with the results of experiments on cooperation in Prisoner's Dilemma prior to social interaction.

We used a mobile eye-tracking system (in the form of glasses) to study the characteristics of visual perception in decision making in the Prisoner's Dilemma game. In each experiment, one of the 12 participants was equipped with eye-tracking glasses. The experiment was conducted in three stages: an anonymous Individual Game stage against a randomly chosen partner (one of the 12 other participants of the experiment); a Socialization stage, in which the participants were divided into two groups; and a Group Game stage, in which the participants played with partners in the groups.

Reductase activity of 17beta-hydroxysteroid oxidoreductase in biopsy specimens of prostatic cancer and benign hyperplasia, and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia and serum concentrations of testosterone, 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone, 4-androstene-3,17-dione were compared in patients and healthy individuals. Reductase activities of 17beta-hydroxysteroid oxidoreductase in soluble fraction of prostatic biopsy specimens decreased in the following order: prostatic cancer>prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia>>benign prostatic hyperplasia. No differences in serum concentrations of testosterone, 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone, 4-androstene-3,17-dione between these three groups of patients were found, while the mean serum concentration of these androgens in patients with prostatic tumors did not surpass the threshold normal values for men.

The paper provides data of comparative assessment of activity of the key enzymes in metabolism of androgens in various morphological variants of sarcomas and benign bone tumors in 46 patients within the age range from 15 to 61, which were under treatment in the ORC named after N. N. Blokhin, RAMS, from 1996 to 1997.

The role of androgens in human normal and neoplastic bone tissues is still unclear. The paper presents data on metabolism of androgens in homogenates of malignant (osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing and giant cell) and benign primary tumors from 46 male and female patients aged 14-58 years. Using two substrates (testosterone and 5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone) for the first time are shown activities of main enzymes of androgen metabolism in all tumor types.

In contemporary neurological diagnostics, psycholinguistic methods are mainly used for the differentiation of speech disturbances of hemispheric origin. However, the possibilities for their use is significantly wider. The mental faculties of man, most of all for speech, are provided for not only by the cerebral hemispheres, but also by the older structures of the brain stem and cerebellum.

The author depicts a psycholinguistic technique aimed at the identification in the speech of patients with impaired cerebellum of the same signs of ataxia which can be detected in their hand movements. The diagnostic significance of the technique was tested in 3 clinical groups of patients: with multiple sclerosis (Group 1), neurosurgical diseases of the cerebellum (Group 2), and with olivopontocerebellar atrophy (Group 3). The findings obtained suggest that the psycholinguistic technique may be used for the early diagnosis of neurosurgical diseases of the cerebellum, detection of residual focal lesions, diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and its individual clinical forms, as well as for the pathogenetic validation of the restorative training of patients with cerebellar dysarthria.
