This study assessed the bacteriological quality of raw, treated, and distributed water from Ede-Erinle and Opa reservoirs in Osun State, Nigeria. We examined the prevalence and antibiotic susceptibility profiles of Vibrio species isolated from untreated wastewater samples from Ondo State Specialist Hospital Okitipupa, Nigeria, as part of the global efforts to provide information for containing the spread of resistant infections.
Methods: twelve hospital wastewater samples were collected aseptically and transported to the laboratory for analysis.
Background: Helicobacter pylori has become recognized as a major cause of gastroduodenal diseases in man. Evidence indicates that once acquired, H. pylori persists, usually for life unless eradicated by antimicrobial therapy.
