This procedure, often enhanced by alpha-1 blockers, enables patients to regain continence and promotes micturition post-catheterisation, particularly useful following surgeries such as prostatectomy.

Although lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries offer a high theoretical energy density, shuttling of dissolved sulfur and polysulfides is a major factor limiting the specific capacity, energy density, and cyclability of Li-S batteries with a liquid electrolyte. Cathode host materials with a microstructure to restrict the migration of active material may not totally eliminate the shuttling effect or may create additional problems that limit the full dissolution and redox conversion of all active cathode materials. Selecting a cathode coating binder with a multifunctional role offers a universal solution suitable for various cathode hosts.

Risk Factors for Mortality in Mechanically Ventilated Patients with COVID-19 in a Mississippi Community Health System.

Objective: To evaluate differences between survivors versus nonsurvivors undergoing mechanical ventilation for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated respiratory failure at two community medical centers.

Methods: This was a multicenter, retrospective cohort analysis of all adult patients mechanically ventilated for COVID-19-associated respiratory failure in two community hospital intensive care units in southern Mississippi from March 15, 2020 through October 10, 2020.

Results: Among 56 patients requiring mechanical ventilation, the mortality rate was 75% (42/56).

Microbiological Impacts of Decontamination of Stethoscopes and Assessment of Disinfecting Practices among Physicians in Pakistan: A Quality Improvement Survey.

The study was conducted to determine bacterial contamination of stethoscopes used by doctors before and after disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol and analyze their practices of disinfecting stethoscopes. Samples from stethoscopes were taken before and after disinfecting with 70% isopropyl alcohol swab with the help of a sterile swab. All swabs were inoculated on Blood and MacConkey agar plates and were examined for growth.

Protein aggregation has been implicated in numerous neurodegenerative disorders whose etiologies are poorly understood, and for which there are no effective treatments. Here we show that the computational approaches may help us to better understand the basics of Parkinson's disease (PD). The high-resolution structural, dynamical, and mechanistic insights delivered by computational studies of protein aggregation have a unique potential to enable the rational manipulation of oligomer formation.

Background: Postgraduation programs, including clinical specialties, have inculcated a mandatory research component, yet no initiatives are taken for the promotion of research at the undergraduate MBBS programs across Pakistan. This study has highlighted a research mentoring program at undergraduate level conducted at Central Park Medical College (CPMC), Lahore, which developed research interest from the start of MBBS. The objective of the study was to explore the perception of mentees and mentors regarding the research mentoring program at CPMC.
