Case Report: Vasospastic angina presenting as phantom odor perception.

Background: Vasospastic angina usually presents with intermittent episodes of chest pain. It can rarely be associated with the perception of phantom odors.

Case Summary: A 69-year-old woman presented for evaluation of intermittent shortness of breath and chest pain.

Percutaneous treatment of late-aortic pseudoaneurysm resulting from surgical repair of aortic coarctation.

We describe the case of a 38-year-old woman who presented with symptoms of chest pain and shortness of breath that had worsened over the previous 6 months and was found to have a large pseudoaneurysm (PSA) of the thoracic aorta. She underwent surgical repair of aortic coarctation at the age of 16 and a revision of her bypass graft at age 28 when she presented with hemoptysis due to aortic PSA and aortobronchial fistula. Our cardiothoracic surgical team deemed a third surgery very high risk; therefore, she was referred to us for percutaneous repair of aortic PSA.

Subintimal angioplasty with a true reentry device for treatment of chronic total occlusion of the arteries of the lower extremity.

Objective: To report the efficacy and safety of the Outback(®) LTD(®) Re-Entry Catheter in reentering the distal true lumen during percutaneous intentional extraluminal revascularization (PIER).

Background: Reentry catheters are used to treat chronic, total arterial occlusions of the lower extremities when standard methods of recanalization have failed. Success and complication rates of these catheters in the real world are uncertain and variable.

Sudden cardiac death caused by migration of a TrapEase inferior vena cava filter: case report and review of the literature.

Case: A 43-year-old female presented with sudden onset of palpitations, chest pain, and shortness of breath associated with hypoxemia. A helical computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest revealed a large saddle pulmonary embolism. Intravenous tPA relieved the shortness of breath and improved the hypoxemia.
