N-Glycoside of Indolo[2,3-]pyrrolo[3,4-]carbazole LCS1269 Exerts Anti-Glioblastoma Effects by G2 Cell Cycle Arrest and CDK1 Activity Modulation: Molecular Docking Studies, Biological Investigations, and ADMET Prediction.

Indolo[2,3-]pyrrolo[3,4-]carbazole scaffold is successfully used as an efficient structural motif for the design and development of different antitumor agents. In this study, we investigated the anti-glioblastoma therapeutic potential of glycosylated indolocarbazole analog LCS1269 utilizing in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches. Cell viability was estimated by an MTT assay.

In recent decades, indolocarbazole glycosides containing sugar moieties have attracted attention due to their diverse anti-tumor activities. In the present study, a series of new indolo [2,3-a]pyrrolo [3,4-c]carbazole derivatives were synthesized for the first time. First of all, we have shown that compound 6e (LCS1269) had the most pronounced effect on inhibiting tumor growth in the transferable solid and non-solid murine tumors as compared with other synthesized indolocarbazole derivatives.

723 blood sera from 537 patients of Regional Infectious Clinical Hospital, Astrakhan were obtained during high activity period of Rhipicephalus ticks (May-September 2015) and retrospectively studied for IgG/IgM to antigen of spotted fever group (SFG) Rickettsia. IgG and/or IgM to Rickettsia conorii were detected in 145 sera from 130 patients, and antibodies to R. sibirica (group-specific) were detected in 143 sera from 145.

Improving the selection efficiency of the counter-selection marker pheS* for the genetic engineering of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

Bacillus subtilis pheS was genetically modified to obtain a counter-selection marker with high selection efficiency in Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The application of the new replication-thermosensitive integrative vector pNZTM1, containing this marker, pheS, with a two-step replacement recombination procedure provides an effective tool for the genetic engineering of industrially important Bacillus species.

[Role of platelets in the pathogenesis of Coxiella infection].

Fats used in seasoning and breast cancer risk: a case-control study in Moscow, Russia.

Background: As part of a case-control study of breast cancer conducted in Moscow the relationship between consumption of fat in seasoning and risk of breast cancer was assessed.

Design: The study comprised 92 cases and 110 controls. Cases were newly diagnosed consecutive cases seen at the breast clinic of the Cancer Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences during the year 1990.

[Use of a rating system in the assessment of 4th-year students' knowledge of obstetrics].

The rating system was used to check up students' knowledge in obstetrics at the fourth course of the therapeutic and prophylactic faculty. Comparison of the results of the rating system and the routine one evidence that introduction of the new system has essentially improved the attendance of practical studies by the students, and their mean marks were improved as well. Students' knowledge assessed by the rating system coincided with the assessment made during examinations, thus permitting the use of this system in future without resorting to traditional sessions of examinations.
