Plants are very often confronted by different heavy metal (HM) stressors that adversely impair their growth and productivity. Among HMs, chromium (Cr) is one of the most prevalent toxic trace metals found in agricultural soils because of anthropogenic activities, lack of efficient treatment, and unregulated disposal. It has a huge detrimental impact on the physiological, biochemical, and molecular traits of crops, in addition to being carcinogenic to humans.

Strong regulations in Human Research Ethics (HRE) are required to address these injustices and to ensure that peoples' participation in health research is safe. Indigenous peoples advocate that research that respects indigenous principles can contribute to addressing their health inequities.

Though flap procedures are considered the standard for managing the complex soft tissue defects with exposed bones/tendons yet small blood vessels for anastomosis, long operative period, increased chances of perioperative thrombosis, and difficult perioperative management in children add to the difficulty in performing flap procedures in children. The vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy has emerged as a novel modality for the management of the difficult wounds with added advantages, especially in children.

This may not be consistent because maternal measles antibodies (MMA) are large immunoglobulin G molecules with molecular weight of 150,000 Da, could cross the placenta in mother-infant pairs.
Aim: The objective was to assess the efficiency of placental transfer of MMA in mother-infant pairs at birth.
Background: Maternal measles antibodies (MMA) are actively transferred through the placenta from mother to foetus. A relationship could exist between MMA of mother-infant pairs and maternal nutritional indicator (haemoglobin).
Objectives: This study reviewed the effects of maternal haemoglobin (Hb) on MMA of mother-infant pairs at birth.

Background: Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) is one of the leading childhood cancers in tropical Africa. Despite this, after extensive literature search most literature reviews on BL found were old. Therefore, it is useful to learn the trend in the epidemiology of BL in north eastern Nigeria especially now that changing ecology of the disease are being published.

The level of these MMA at birth in newborn children depends on the levels in their mother and the extent of placental transfer. We investigated maternal HIV infection as a predictor of levels of MMA in mother-infant pairs in Maiduguri.

This study aimed to determine whether selected acute phase proteins and micronutrients measured at the time of diagnosis and during the first weeks of treatment could predict treatment responses during the 2-month standard intensive phase of therapy. For this purpose, alpha1-antitrypsin, alpha1-acid glycoprotein, alpha2-macroglobulin, C-reactive protein, C3, C4, zinc, copper and selenium concentrations were measured in Brazilian patients with smear-positive tuberculosis at the time of diagnosis and 1, 3, 5 and 8 weeks after initiation of therapy.

The pattern of this group of disorders however, varies between regions and countries and even within countries. Recognizing the structural cardiac conditions that prevail in a particular area is important in health planning and for improving health care services.
