Purpose: To determine the effects of multidisciplinary, nurse-led psychiatric consultation on behavioral problems of nursing home residents. Residents often suffer from psychiatric symptoms, while staff psychiatric expertise varies.
Design And Methods: A pre-post study was conducted in seven homes using the Neuropsychiatric Inventory Nursing Home version (NPI-NH).

Background: Psychiatric symptoms occur frequently in nursing-home residents. The psychiatric expertise and support available to residents vary from one nursing home to another. The Health of the Nations Outcome Scales 65+ (honos65+) is a promising instrument for the assessment of mental, social and physical health in older persons, but it is not yet known whether it is valid for older persons in the Netherlands.
Aim: To assess the reliability, validity and sensibility to change of the honos65+ when applied to older persons with psychiatric disorders.

Background: Several studies have attempted to predict the final response or remission based on improvement during the early course of treatment of major depression. There is however a great variation in cut offs used to define early response and in the optimal week to predict final results.
Objective: To compare different cut offs at different time points early in the treatment of elderly depressed patients.
