Anti-icing performance on aluminum surfaces and proposed model for freezing time calculation.

In this work, we proposed a facile approach to fabricate a superhydrophobic surface for anti-icing performance in terms of adhesive strength and freezing time. A hierarchical structure was generated on as-received Al plates using a wet etching method and followed with a low energy chemical compound coating. Surfaces after treatment exhibited the great water repellent properties with a high contact angle and extremely low sliding angle.

Background: The Asia-Pacific Breast Initiatives (APBI) I and II registries were established to collect safety data for patients with early stage breast cancer receiving adjuvant docetaxel-based regimens in the Asia-Pacific region.

Materials And Methods: Data from the two registries were combined to perform a safety analysis. Participants in the registry were women with early stage operable breast cancer with an intermediate or high risk of recurrence.

Status of cancer pain in Hanoi, Vietnam: A hospital-wide survey in a tertiary cancer treatment center.

Little is known about the prevalence of cancer pain in many developing countries. We report a hospital-wide survey of pain in a tertiary cancer center in Hanoi, Vietnam. All inpatients and outpatients age 18 years or older were approached for participation in the study.

Postmastectomy radiotherapy in premenopausal Vietnamese and Chinese women with breast cancer treated in an adjuvant hormonal therapy study.

Background: Adjuvant postmastectomy radiotherapy (RT) decreases the risk of local recurrence of breast cancer and may increase overall survival (OS).

Methods And Materials: After mastectomy, 656 premenopausal Vietnamese and Chinese women with clinical Stage II-IIIA breast cancer, in a clinical trial of adjuvant surgical oophorectomy and tamoxifen, were treated with adjuvant RT according to the availability in the institution. The short-term disease recurrence and OS experience of these 656 women were analyzed using univariate and multivariate methods.

Human papillomavirus infection among women in South and North Vietnam.

The incidence rate of invasive cervical carcinoma (ICC) is 4-fold higher in Ho Chi Minh City, in the South of Vietnam, than in Hanoi, in the North. Thus, we explored the prevalence of and the risk factors for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in these 2 areas. A population-based random sample of married women aged 15-69 years were interviewed and had a gynaecological examination in the urban district of Ho Chi Minh City and in a peri-urban district in Hanoi.
