Safety in Subsequent Lines of Therapy in Patients With Relapsed/Refractory Follicular Lymphoma.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is a disease often characterized by chronic and successive relapses after first-line chemoimmunotherapy. Although chemoimmunotherapy and combination therapy, such as lenalidomide with rituximab, are well established in the treatment sequence of FL, there is a need to streamline treatment options and determine placement of novel agents, such as chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, an enhancer of zeste homolog 2 inhibitor, or a phosphoinositide 3 kinase inhibitor, into the treatment landscape. As such, the purpose of this review is to compare the safety profiles of approved agents in subsequent lines of therapy for relapsed or refractory FL and to assess how the management of adverse events may impact treatment choice.

Psychometric Properties of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) in Older Adults With Advanced Cancer.

Objectives: Over half of new cancer diagnoses occur in patients aged 65 or older, with up to 40% experiencing anxiety. The American Society of Clinical Oncology recommends using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) for anxiety screening, but the GAD-7 psychometric properties in this population are unknown. This study examined the GAD-7's reliability, validity, and item parameters, comparing its utility with the GAD-2 in older adults with cancer.

Effect of lactation feeder design on sow and litter performance, feeder cleaning criteria, and economic return.

A total of 557 mixed parity sows (PIC 1050) were used to evaluate the effect of lactation feeder design on sow farrowing performance, litter growth performance, feeder cleaning criteria, and economics. The experiment was conducted during the summer of 2023 at a commercial sow farm located in northwest Texas. The study used two sequential farrowing groups with approximately 279 sows per group.

Older adults with serious illness near the end-of-life often receive invasive treatments. We developed a conceptual model called clinical momentum that describes system-level forces producing a trajectory of care that is difficult to modify and contributes to overtreatment. We sought to evaluate the empirical fit of our model by examining an event with clear guidelines against intervention: permanent feeding tube placement in patients with advanced dementia.

Reliability of a Modified Watson-Jones Classification for Tibial Tubercle Fractures in Children.

Objectives: The first case report describing a pediatric fracture of the tibial tubercle was published in 1852 in the Medical Times and Gazette, a Journal of Medical Science, literature, criticism, and news. Exploring Health-Related Quality of Life in Children With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Relationship to Physical Activity.

Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a burdensome condition that inflicts both physical and psychological impairment on those with the disease, negatively impacting health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Given the abundance of evidence suggesting a role of physical activity (PA) in modulating HRQoL in healthy populations of children, we sought to determine the relationship between HRQoL and PA in children diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Methods And Results: A multicenter prospective observational cohort study was conducted, with patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy aged 10 to 19 years being provided a wrist-worn activity tracker (Fitbit Charge HR) to wear for 14 days.

Transient gas-induced differential refractive index effects in as-drawn hollow core optical fibers.

When a hollow core fiber is drawn, the core and cladding holes within the internal cane geometry are pressurized with an inert gas to enable precise control over the internal microstructure of the fiber and counteract surface tension forces. Primarily by considering the temperature drop as the fiber passes through the furnace and the geometrical transformation of the internal microstructure from preform-to-fiber, we recently established that the gas pressure within the final 'as-drawn' fiber is substantially below atmospheric pressure. We have also established that slight changes in the gas refractive index within the core and surrounding cladding holes induced by changes in gas pressure are sufficient to significantly affect both the modality and loss of the fiber.

This article experimentally examines methods for implementing the philosophies of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in a High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) manufacturing environment. HMLV environments present unique challenges to LSS paradigms because of the need for extraordinary operational flexibility and customer responsiveness.
