Background: The incorporation of electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs), such as the Geriatric Assessment (GA) and treatment preferences, into decision-making for pancreatic cancer has been limited by clinician- and system-level barriers concerning workflow. We hypothesized that ePRO inclusion within multidisciplinary tumor boards (MDTBs) would circumvent barriers and provide a venue for systematic consideration of critical patient-provided information.
Patients And Methods: The INtegrating Systematic PatIent-Reported Evaluations (INSPIRE) intervention consists of (1) patient survey completion, including GA and patient preferences, and (2) screensharing patient ePROs during MDTBs.
Objective: Caregivers support individuals undergoing cancer treatment by assisting with activities, managing care, navigating healthcare systems, and communicating with care teams. We explored the quality and quantity of caregiver participation during recorded decision-making clinical appointments in women with metastatic breast cancer.
Methods: This was a convergent parallel mixed methods study that utilized qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
With the discovery of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), overall survival in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) now approaches that of the general population. While these TKIs have proven to be lifesaving, remaining on them lifelong creates both physical and financial burdens for patients. Recently, multiple trials have begun looking into the efficacy of trialing patients off these TKIs to see if they can sustain treatment-free remission (TFR).

Purpose: The purpose is to measure the association between DEX and neck hematoma formation in subjects undergoing head and neck microvascular reconstructive surgery.
Study Design, Setting, Sample: The investigators implemented a retrospective cohort study on subjects undergoing microvascular head and neck reconstruction for benign and malignant pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2014 to 2021.
In a meta-analysis of 5 trials, the addition of gemtuzumab ozogamicin (GO) to intensive induction chemotherapy led to a survival benefit in patients with core-binding factor (CBF) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Given the heterogeneous incorporation of GO in clinical trials, the ideal dose and schedule remains unclear. We conducted a single-center retrospective analysis to compare outcomes of patients with CBF-AML treated with intensive induction chemotherapy, with or without a single dose of GO 3 mg/m, during induction only.

Objective: Currently there is variation in perioperative care of orthognathic surgery patients and limited clinical practice guidelines. The current orthognathic surgery practice patterns among US academic OMFS training centers have not been described. The purpose of this study is to describe the practice patterns among US academic OMFS training centers.

The incorporation of telehealth visits into an interprofessional model of oncology care was evaluated to assess for changes in care delivery and patient engagement. New patients with a gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis who were actively undergoing treatment and followed for at least three months were divided into two cohorts based on telehealth utilization.

Recent studies have shown that early PO after free flap reconstruction does not lead to increased morbidity and has resulted in decreased hospital stay. The objective of this study is to assess postoperative complications associated with timing of PO after free flap reconstruction of the oral cavity and to define clinical predictors of postoperative complications.

Males of the freshwater fish Poecilia parae occur as one of five discrete morphs, all of which shoal together in natural populations where morph frequency has been stable for over 50 years. Each morph uses a different complex reproductive strategy and morphs differ dramatically in colour, body size and mating behaviour.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of TransFORM Body Treatment (TFB) in skin rejuvenation compared to a bland moisturizer on the extensor and volar forearms.
Methods: Blinded participants were given 2 products to apply on the designated forearms with follow-up at 4, 8, and 12 weeks.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to (a) visualize the symptom-cytokine networks (perceived stress, fatigue, loneliness, perceived cognitive impairment, daytime sleepiness, sleep quality, and 13 cytokines) and (b) explore centrality metrics of symptom-cytokine networks in breast cancer survivors who completed chemotherapy treatment.
Methods: Cross-sectional analysis of data collected from 66 breast cancer survivors who were on average three years post chemotherapy completion. Perceived stress, fatigue, loneliness, perceived cognitive impairment, daytime sleepiness, and sleep quality were measured with self-report instruments, and a panel of 13 cytokines was measured from serum using multiplex assays.
An accurate interocclusal record is essential for the successful delivery of fixed prosthodontic restorations. There are various materials and techniques used to obtain an interocclusal record in order to facilitate mounting of the dental casts on an articulator. The interocclusal record describes the vertical and horizontal relationship of the maxillary and mandibular teeth.

Multiple ceramic systems have been introduced over the past four decades with considerable advances in material properties. Survival rates of all-ceramic crowns differ by type of ceramic used, fabrication method and clinical indication.

Once recombination is halted between the X and Y chromosomes, sex chromosomes begin to differentiate and transition to heteromorphism. While there is a remarkable variation across clades in the degree of sex chromosome divergence, far less is known about the variation in sex chromosome differentiation within clades. Here, we combined whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing data to characterize the structure and conservation of sex chromosome systems across Poeciliidae, the livebearing clade that includes guppies.

A total of eight multiparous, captive-bred females were bled throughout their estrous cycle via saphenous venipuncture, with E2 and P4 concentrations being measured via ELISA of the serum collected. Serum E ranged from 1212 to 3500pg/ml with a peak value coinciding with observed estrus.

A 37 year old male presented with the complaint of a loose and bulky acrylic obturator prosthesis. He had previously tried to using a different acrylic obturator prostheses as well as both cobalt chromium and titanium framework obturators. The most successful previous prosthesis was a titanium based obturator which had performed well prior to a fractured clasp.

Over-production of IL-6 is a hallmark of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases such as Castleman's Disease (CD) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Antagonism of the interleukin IL-6/IL-6 receptor (IL-6R)/gp130 signaling complex continues to show promise as a therapeutic target.

However, the extent to which sensory systems vary across- versus within-species remains largely unknown. Here we assessed whether color vision varies in natural locations where guppies (Poecilia reticulata) and their two closest relatives, Poecilia parae and Poecilia picta, occur in extreme sympatry and school together.
