Patients with a Fontan circulation are at a high risk of developing a variety of cardiac dysrhythmias after cardiac surgery. These dysrhythmias are most often supraventricular tachyarrhythmias (SVT), but ventricular tachyarrhythmias (VT) may also occur. Objectives: To investigate the opinions of lung cancer clinicians concerning shared decision making (SDM) in early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer patients.
Methods: A survey was conducted among Dutch cardiothoracic surgeons and lung surgeons, pulmonologists and radiation oncologists. The opinions of clinicians on the involvement of patients in treatment decision making was assessed using a 1-5 Likert-type scale.

Implantable continuous flow left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) are increasingly used in end-stage heart failure treatment as a bridge-to-transplant and destination therapy (DT). A multicenter randomized controlled trial was conducted to assess whether use of the patient decision aid results in optimization of shared decision making in prosthetic heart valve selection.
Methods And Results: In a 5-center randomized controlled trial, patients were allocated to receive either standard preoperative care (control group) or additional access to the patient decision aid (intervention group).
Objectives: To re-examine the evidence for recommendations for complete dissection versus sampling of ipsilateral mediastinal lymph nodes during lobectomy for cancer.
Methods: We searched for randomized trials of systematic mediastinal lymphadenectomy versus mediastinal sampling. We performed a textual analysis of the authors' own starting assumptions and conclusion.
Background: The prevalence of ventricular dysrhythmias (VD) [ventricular premature beats (VPBs), ventricular couplets (Vcouplets), ventricular runs (Vruns)] after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has so far not been examined. The goal of this study is to examine characteristics of VD and whether they precede ventricular tachyarrhythmias (VTA) during a postoperative follow-up period of 5 days using continuous rhythm registrations. The incidence and characteristics of both PoAF and supraventricular premature beats triggering PoAF, their interrelationship and alterations over time have never been examined. Methods: Between 1987 and 2010, 353 patients underwent aortic valve replacements via allograft (92 subcoronary, 261 root replacement; 98% aortic allografts).
Fragmented QRS complexes (fQRS) on 12-lead electrocardiogram are known predictors of ventricular tachyarrhythmia (VTA) in patients with coronary artery disease. There is limited knowledge of the clinical implications of fQRS in patients with congenital heart defects (CHD). Aims of this study were to examine (1) the occurrence of fQRS in patients with various types of CHD and (2) whether fQRS is associated with development of VTA.

The validity of this assumption for IMT is challenged by recent meta-analyses; for CCS by absence of a relationship between negative scores, and freedom of future events.
