As the majority of female cancer survivors can now expect to live long lives beyond cancer diagnosis and treatment, there is a growing need to address the significant late effects of treatment. Unfortunately, sexual health remains a primary concern that often goes unaddressed among female cancer survivors. Sexual dysfunction is one of the most common and distressing effects of treatment.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) survivors frequently experience persistent sexual dysfunction, which is associated with impaired quality of life and increased psychological distress. The lack of availability of clinicians with expertise in sexual health limits the capacity to address sexual health concerns in HSCT survivors. Digital health applications may offer a patient-centered and scalable solution to address sexual health concerns in cancer survivors.

Forensic analysis of fabric is often critically important to establish a relationship between a suspect and a crime scene or demonstrate the absence of such connections. Most of commercially available fabric is colored with primarily organic colorants. These dye substances are highly fluorescent, which limits the use to conventional Raman spectroscopy for the analysis of the colorant content of fabric.

Aims: Rare variants in the KCNQ1 gene are found in the healthy population to a much greater extent than the prevalence of Long QT Syndrome type 1 (LQTS1). This observation creates challenges in the interpretation of KCNQ1 rare variants that may be identified as secondary findings in whole exome sequencing. This study sought to identify missense variants within sub-domains of the KCNQ1-encoded Kv7.

How far are species distributed on the abyssal plains? Spanning from 3000 to 6000 m below sea level, abyssal plains cover three-quarters of the ocean floor and are the largest but also least explored habitat on Earth. The question of vertical and horizontal distribution is central to understanding biogeographic and population genetic processes within species inhabiting the deep-sea benthos. Amphipod crustaceans are an important and dominant taxon in this ecosystem.

Women at high inherited risk of ovarian cancer are offered risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) from age 35 to 45 years. Although potentially life-saving, RRSO may induce symptoms that negatively affect quality of life and impair long-term health. Clinical care following RRSO is often suboptimal.

Disparities in care, treatment-related toxicity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) for adolescents and young adults (AYAs, aged 15-39 years) with cancer are under-addressed partly because of limited collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in cancer clinical trials (CCTs). The AYA years include key developmental milestones distinct from younger and older patients, and cancer interrupts attainment of critical life goals. Lack of consensus on a standardized approach to assess HRQoL and treatment-related toxicity in AYA CCTs has limited the ability to improve patient outcomes.

Urologic conditions and their treatments can have a significant impact on patients' sexual functioning and sexual health. Although urologists address sexual dysfunction within their scope of practice, sexual health conversations occur rarely and focus narrowly on physiologic sexual function. The sex therapy perspective considers biologic, psychological, relationship, and cultural aspects of sexuality.

As the field of sexual medicine continues to grow, there has been increasing attention to the importance of the sociocultural components of the biopsychosocial model. Although important in all medical practice, culture and sexual health are particularly entwined, so engaging with sociocultural aspects of the patient experience as part of evaluation and treatment is necessary to optimize patient outcomes in this field. We invite clinicians to consider the importance of sexual health literacy, cultural humility, and support for patient volition as key aspects of moving care towards a model that embraces all aspects of the biopsychosocial model.

Oncology health-care workers (HCWs) are facing substantial stressors during the current coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, resulting in a wide range of acute stress responses. To appropriately meet the growing mental health needs of HCWs, it is imperative to differentiate expectable stress responses from posttraumatic stress disorder and mental illness, because traditional mental health interventions may pathologize healthy stress reactions and risk retraumatizing HCWs under acute duress. Further, HCWs are experiencing protracted forms of acute stress as the pandemic continues, including moral injury, and require mental health interventions that are flexible and can adapt as the acuity of stressors changes.
