Background: Healthcare professionals play an important role in successfully implementing digital interventions in routine mental healthcare settings. While a larger body of research has focused on the experiences of mental healthcare professionals with the combination of digital interventions and face-to-face outpatient treatment, comparatively little is known about their experiences with digital interventions combined with inpatient treatment. This is especially true for acute psychiatric inpatient care, where studies on the implementation of digital interventions are more rare.

Sixty patients were allocated in a 1:1 ratio to the intervention group or treatment as usual (TAU). Feasibility was evaluated via patient satisfaction, system usability, and program usage.

Digital interventions expand the range of treatment options and reach people who are unable or unwilling to take part in traditional psychotherapy. This article sheds light on various forms of digital interventions, such as unguided and guided self-help interventions, blended treatments, and video-based therapy, the practical use of Digital Health Applications (DiGA) in Germany, and the current state of research in digital interventions.

One way of providing such interventions is through blended treatment. This study examined the addition of an internet-based emotion regulation intervention to face-to-face psychotherapy in an outpatient setting.

This is especially true for studies of internet-based interventions in acute psychiatric inpatient care. Internet-based interventions in this specific setting may provide benefits such as patient empowerment and overall improved treatment outcomes.

In many cases, face-to-face psychotherapy is not available because of limited resources, such as an insufficient number of therapists in the area. New approaches to improve the German health care system are needed to counter chronification.

However, research has paid little attention to why guided interventions are superior. The present study investigated whether working alliance and adherence to the program mediated the effect of guidance on depressive symptom outcome.

While advantages and disadvantages of BT have been identified from the patient and therapist perspective, the two perspectives have rarely been examined within the same treatment. Moreover, almost all available research on patient and therapist experiences with BT is disorder-specific.

Background: Over the last decades various approaches to digitalization of psychotherapy (PT) have been developed. The concept of blended PT, the combination of face to face and online interventions is one such example. While research interest on blended PT has greatly increased in the past years, the implementation of blended PT has lagged behind in German speaking countries.

Many empirically validated psychotherapeutic treatments incorporate elements targeting emotion regulation. Most of these treatment approaches are conceptualized as standard face-to-face treatments not as blended treatments, which include an internet-based intervention.

Context: Although unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are considerable problems in the United States, private health insurance plans are inconsistent in their coverage of reproductive and sexual health services needed to address these problems.
Methods: A survey administered to a market-representative sample of 12 health insurance carriers in Washington State assessed benefit coverage for gynecologic services, maternity services, contraceptive services, pregnancy termination, infertility services, reproductive cancer screening, STD services, HIV and AIDS services, and sterilization, as well as for the existence of confidentiality policies.
