Background: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a complication of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. We aimed to explore neurovascular imaging patterns in patients with SARS-CoV-2-related AIS.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical and radiological data of patients hospitalized with AIS and a positive PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 prior to AIS onset.
Background: Delays in reperfusion treatment, both intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and endovascular treatment (EVT), adversely affect outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). To alleviate these delays, it is essential to comprehend how patients' baseline and stroke characteristics impact in-hospital reperfusion delays. While demographic and socioeconomic factors affect stroke outcomes, their impact on in-hospital delays remains unclear.

Acute incidental CMI was found to be more common in patients with cancer. Whether acute incidental CMI predicts future ischemic stroke is still unknown.

Apixaban is one of the most frequently prescribed DOACs. Therefore, we aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of Apixaban with those of vitamin k antagonists (VKA) in patients with CSVT.

Data are scarce regarding the association between LAA morphology and Embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS).
Patients And Methods: Using cardiac computed tomography (CCT) scans, LAA morphology was categorized as either chicken wing (CW), cactus, windsock, or cauliflower.
Introduction: Individuals with dementia are underrepresented in interventional studies for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This research gap creates a bias against their treatment in clinical practice. Our goal was to compare the safety and efficacy of intravenous-thrombolysis (t-PA) and endovascular treatment (EVT) in individuals with or without pre-AIS dementia.

The most common approach today is to perform EVT in a comprehensive stroke center (CSC) and transfer relevant patients for EVT from a primary stroke center (PSC). Rapid and efficient treatment of LVO is a key factor in achieving a good clinical outcome.

CMIs can be detected by magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging (MRI-DWI) only for a very short period of approximately 2 weeks after their formation and are associated with an increased stroke risk and cognitive impairment. We aimed to examine CMI detection rate in patients with lung cancer (LC), which is strongly associated with ischemic stroke risk relative to other cancer types.

The CAPTIS device is an embolic protection system, designed to provide neurovascular and systemic protection by deflecting debris away from the brain's circulation, capturing the debris and thus avoiding systemic embolisation.
Aims: We aimed to study the safety and feasibility study of the CAPTIS complete cerebral and full-body embolic protection system during TAVR.
Our aim was to examine the influence of the market entry of Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital on community and hospital-based healthcare utilization (HCU). A retrospective study was conducted among Maccabi Health Services enrollees in the regions of Ashdod (n = 94,575) and Netanya (control group, n = 80,200) before and after this market entry. Based on difference-in-differences framework, we examined the change in HCU of Ashdod region's enrollees compared to the control group and following the market entry using multivariable generalized estimating equations models.

Background: Patient-centeredness is a core element in healthcare. However, there is a gap between the understanding of this term by healthcare professionals, and patients' capability, self-efficacy, and willingness to take part in medical decisions. We aim to expose standpoints toward "patient centeredness" among junior medical managers (JMM), as they bridge between policy strategies and patients.

Current guidelines recommend against intracranial stenting (ICS) for patients with ICAD; treatment of patients who failed the best medical therapy is still debatable.
Methods: We introduce a preliminary retrospective analysis of our tertiary stroke center during 2018-2022 of patients that were treated with ICS either in acute phase or elective (eICS).
Background And Objectives: Stroke-like episodes (SLEs) in patients with mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes (MELAS) syndrome are often misdiagnosed as acute ischemic stroke (AIS). We aimed to determine unique clinical and neuroimaging features for SLEs and formulate diagnostic criteria.
Methods: We retrospectively identified patients with MELAS admitted for SLEs between January 2012 and December 2021.
Background And Objectives: Stroke-like episodes (SLEs) in patients with MELAS syndrome are often initially misdiagnosed as acute ischemic stroke (AIS), resulting in treatment delay. We aimed to determine clinical features that may distinguish SLEs from AISs and explore the benefit of early L-arginine treatment on patient outcomes.
Methods: We looked retrospectively for MELAS patients admitted between January 2005 and January 2022 and compared them to an AIS cohort with similar lesion topography.
Background: Endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) with large vessel occlusion (LVO) is the standard of care treatment today. Although elderly patients comprise the majority of stroke patients, octogenarians and non-agenarians are often poorly represented or even excluded in clinical trials. We looked at the safety and efficacy of EVT for AIS with LVO in patients over 90 (Non-agenarians), in comparison to patients aged 80-89 (Octogenarians) and to patients younger than 80 years (<80yrs).

To gain insight into modeling assumptions, we analyzed the three major models that served as the basis for policy making in Israel during the COVID-19 pandemic and compared them to independently collected data. The number of confirmed patients, the number of patients in critical condition and the number of COVID-19 deaths predicted by the models were compared to actual data collected and published in the Israeli Ministry of Health's dashboard.

Background And Purpose: Isolated striatocapsular infarction occurs commonly in patients with ischemic stroke following M1 thrombectomy. We aimed to explore the correlation between CTP-derived parameters of deep venous outflow at presentation and subsequent striatocapsular infarction in a retrospective cohort of such patients.
Materials And Methods: TTP and peak enhancement were measured on CTP-derived time-attenuation curves of the internal cerebral and thalamostriate veins bilaterally.
Introduction: The process of "informed consent" is currently being evaluated by the Ministry of Health, with the intent to recommend steps to improve patients' and doctors' satisfaction. Following the committee meetings, we decided to initiate an evaluation of the patient's perceptions regarding technical and logistic aspects of the process.
Aims: To learn about patients' perceptions on the informed consent process, by evaluating different aspects and variables.
Introduction: Planning the future national hospitalization system requires consideration of demographic trends, innovative treatments and policy approaches. The existing situation alone does not allow proper planning in extremely dynamic systems that operate within the framework of scarce resources.
Objectives: To identify managers' attitudes regarding hospital planning, deployment and managerial mechanisms in comparison with evidence in the literature.

Background: Despite advances in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), periprocedural acute ischemic stroke remains a concern.
Objectives: The aims of this study were to investigate acute ischemic stroke complicating TAVR (AISCT) and to describe the indications and outcomes of interventions to treat AISCT.
Methods: An international multicenter registry was established focusing on AISCT within 30 days of TAVR.
Objectives: Janus kinase 2 (JAK2-V617F) mutations can cause thrombocytosis, polycythemia and hyper viscosity leading to cerebral sinus venous thrombosis (CSVT). However, data regarding the characteristics and prevalence of JAK2-V617F mutation in patients with CSVT are currently lacking. We aimed to evaluate the characteristics of CSVT patients that carry the JAK2 mutation.

Cardiac imaging is the cornerstone of embolic stroke workup, in an effort to diagnose high risk cardio-embolic sources. Cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is an emerging imaging modality with high diagnostic performance for intra-cardiac thrombus detection.
