Because obesity increases the risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease, it is imperative to understand the cardiovascular actions of GDF15, especially since elevated GDF15 levels are an established biomarker for heart failure. As weight loss should be encouraged in the early stages of obesity-related prediabetes/T2D, where diabetic cardiomyopathy is often present, we assessed whether treatment with GDF15 influences its pathology.

The unaffected gene encodes wild-type HTT (wtHTT) protein, which supports processes important for the health and function of the central nervous system. Selective lowering of mHTT for the treatment of HD may provide a benefit over nonselective HTT-lowering approaches, as it aims to preserve the beneficial activities of wtHTT.

We propose a machine learning-based algorithm (JLK-CTL) that uses handcrafted features from noncontrast computed tomography to predict LVO.
Methods: We included patients with ischemic stroke who underwent concurrent noncontrast computed tomography and computed tomography angiography in seven hospitals.
Based on (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γK_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}η^{'} is performed. The mass and width of the X(2370) are measured to be 2395±11(stat)_{-94}^{+26}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and 188_{-17}^{+18}(stat)_{-33}^{+124}(syst) MeV, respectively.
