Oscillatory activity within the beta frequency range (13-30 Hz) serves as a Parkinson's disease biomarker for tailoring deep brain stimulation (DBS) treatments. This study aimed to establish an APRI+ALBI, aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio (APRI) combined with albumin-bilirubin grade (ALBI), based multivariable model (MVM) to predict PHLF and compare its performance to indocyanine green clearance (ICG-R15 or ICG-PDR) and albumin-ICG evaluation (ALICE).

Methods: 12,056 patients from the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database were used to generate a MVM to predict PHLF B+C.

Objectives: Currently, there are no approved treatments for early disease stages of COVID-19 and few strategies to prevent disease progression after infection with SARS-CoV-2. The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of convalescent plasma (CP) or camostat mesylate administered within 72 h of diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in adult individuals with pre-existing risk factors at higher risk of getting seriously ill with COVID-19. Camostat mesylate acts as an inhibitor of the host cell serine protease TMPRSS2 and prevents the virus from entering the cell.

Glutamyl-queuosine-tRNA(Asp) synthetase (Glu-Q-RS) is a paralog of glutamyl-tRNA synthetase (GluRS) and is found in more than forty species of proteobacteria, cyanobacteria, and actinobacteria. Glu-Q-RS shows striking structural similarity with N-terminal catalytic domain of GluRS (NGluRS) but it lacks the C-terminal anticodon binding domain (CGluRS). In spite of structural similarities, Glu-Q-RS and NGluRS differ in their functional properties.
