Promoting Housing Stability through Eviction Prevention for Older Adults in Social Housing: A Qualitative Study.

Background And Objectives: Evictions are a major contributor to homelessness among low-income older renters, many of whom are living in social housing. Research indicates that social housing may protect individuals from eviction, but older adults may still be vulnerable, especially for non-payment of rent. This research used a qualitative approach to understand the factors that place older adults in social housing at risk of eviction and identify strategies to promote housing stability.

Background: The increasing availability of electronic health system data and remotely-sensed environmental variables has led to the emergence of statistical models capable of producing malaria forecasts. Many of these models have been operationalized into malaria early warning systems (MEWSs), which provide predictions of malaria dynamics several months in advance at national and regional levels. However, MEWSs rarely produce predictions at the village-level, the operational scale of community health systems and the first point of contact for the majority of rural populations in malaria-endemic countries.

Bats, which play a vital role in maintaining ecosystems, are also known as natural reservoirs of coronaviruses (CoVs), thus have raised concerns about their potential transmission to humans, particularly in light of the emergence of MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2. The increasing impact of human activities and ecosystem modifications is reshaping bat community structure and ecology, heightening the risk of the emergence of potential epidemics. Therefore, continuous monitoring of these viruses in bats is necessary.
