Container/Closure Integrity Testing and the Identification of a Suitable Vial/Stopper Combination for Low-Temperature Storage at -80 {degrees}C.

Unlabelled: It was recently found that after storage of a live viral vaccine at -80 °C in glass vials closed with rubber stoppers, a phenomenon was revealed which had not been observed before with other viral products stored at -20 °C: overpressure in the vials. As this phenomenon poses a serious safety problem for medical personnel as well as for the product itself, an investigation was initiated to identify the root cause of the overpressure. After exclusion of possible root causes (differences in air temperature or atmospheric air pressure during filling and quality control testing, outgassing from the formulation buffer) the remaining hypothesis involved a possible container closure integrity issue at low temperature.

The mouse poly(C)-binding protein exists in multiple isoforms and interacts with several RNA-binding proteins.

The murine poly(C)-binding protein (mCBP) was previously shown to belong to the group of K-homology (KH) proteins by virtue of its homology to hnRNP-K. We have isolated cDNA-splice variants of mCBP which differ by two variable regions of 93 bp and/or 39 +/- 3 bp respectively. Both variable regions are located between the second and third KH-domain of mCBP.

[Results of therapy of 100 patients with acute leukemia--a retrospective unicenter 5-year analysis].

The results of therapy in 100 patients who newly fell ill (68 AML, 32 ALL) with acute leukaemia were evaluated (1981 to 1985). The 5-year-survival chance of all patients is 15% for AML, 18% for ALL, first of all it is depending on the degree of remission obtained. The CR rate is nearly 43% (AML) and 66% (ALL), respectively, shows a dependence upon age and is impaired above all by a high early death rate (supportive therapy).
