Early intervention and cumulative life course impairment in psoriasis: a review.

Psoriasis is a chronic, systemic, inflammatory disease affecting the skin, joints and other organs. Psoriasis negatively affects patients' quality of life, causing social anxiety and negative coping, thus determining a cumulative life course impairment (CLCI). The concept of CLCI in psoriasis is reinforced by the understanding that psoriasis-associated comorbidities and stigma accumulate over a patient's life course, resulting from an interaction between the burden of stigmatization, physical and psychological comorbidities, coping strategies and external factors.

Sleep, dreams, nightmares, and sex-related differences: a narrative review.

Objective: The aim of this study was to review the available findings on sex-related differences for sleep disorders, dreams and nightmares.

Materials And Methods: We explored the PubMed, EMBASE and Google Scholar electronic databases, with regards to the searching terms 'sleep', 'dreams', and 'nightmares' associated with 'sex' and/or 'gender'. Moreover, other supplementary terms for the searching strategy were 'chronobiology', and 'circadian rhythm'.

Outcome and technical consideration of conversion total hip arthroplasty after failed fixation of intracapsular and extracapsular hip fractures: Are they really that different?

Introduction: Conversion Total Hip Arthroplasty (cTHA) is a rescue strategy for proximal femur osteosynthesis failures. However, it is unclear whether cTHAs performed for extra-capsular fracture fixation failures (ECF) or for intra-capsular fracture fixation failures (ICF) share the same complexity and efficacy. The purpose of our study was to compare cTHAs performed on pre-existing ICFs and pre-existing ECFs, focusing on surgical complications and functional outcomes in both groups.

Validity and reliability of the Unified Classification System applied to periprosthetic femur fractures: a comparison with the Vancouver system.

The Unified Classification System (UCS) presents itself as an evolution of the Vancouver Classification (VCS) for the evaluation of periprosthetic fractures of the proximal femur (PPF). The aim of our study was to highlight any loss of reproducibility or validity of the new classification system, compared to the previous one. We tested the interobserver and intraobserver agreement using 40 PPF clinical cases.
