The post-mortem interval estimation for human skeletal remains is critical in forensic medicine. This study used Raman spectroscopy, specifically comparing a handheld device to a Raman microscope for PMI estimations. Analyzing 99 autopsy bone samples and 5 archeological samples, the research categorized them into five PMI classes using conventional methods.

High soluble (s)PD-L1 is associated with reduced survival and treatment failure in advanced stages. Here we evaluated the effects of sPD-L1 on T cells, relapse free survival, and overall survival in early stage NSCLC.

We analysed the dynamic transcriptional changes during NMP and linked them to clinical and biochemical parameters.
Methods: 50 livers subjected to NMP for up to 24 h were enrolled.
Organ quality can be assessed prior to transplantation, during normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) of the liver. Evaluation of mitochondrial function by high-resolution respirometry (HRR) may serve as a viability assessment concept in this setting. Freshly collected tissue is considered as optimal sample for HRR, but due to technical and personnel requirements, more flexible and schedulable measurements are needed.

Capsular fibrosis, a common SMI complication linked to host responses, worsens with specific implant topographies. Our study with 10 patients investigated intra- and inter-individually, reduced surface roughness effects on disease progression, wound responses, chronic inflammation, and capsular composition.
