[Measurement of basal inhibin B level in Bulgarian women of the childbearing age].

Objective: To establish mean and reference range of basal serum inhibin B levels in a group of healthy fertile Bulgarian women.

Methods: The present report covers the results of 9 month's period in which sixty-five healthy fertile Bulgarian women, aged 20-40 years were selected to determinate a reference group of healthy fertile women with normal values of inhibin B. Blood samples were collected on early follicular phase of menstrual cycle (2-4 days).

[Hypophyseal-thyroid function following partial thyroid resections for euthyroid struma nodosa].

The serum levels of svT3, svT4, TTH, T3 and T4 are evaluated at two, six and twelve months after partial resection of the thyroid gland in patients with euthyroid struma nodosa. The patients are divided up in two groups: group one--given hormonal substitution therapy, and group two--untreated. The results are estimated with a special reference to the need of hormonal administration in view of precluding recurrences.

[Thyroid hormone dynamics during the thyrostatic treatment of Basedow's disease].

The efficacy of the generally accepted therapeutic scheme was studied in 52 newly discovered and untreated patients with Basedow's disease with the purpose to clarify the frequent failures of the thyrostatic treatment. The thyroid hormones levels were determined in dynamics initially and in the course of the disease. The results show that the efficacy of the thyrostatic drugs is individually different and depends on the supersensitivity of the thyroid gland.

[The TRH test using the Bulgarian preparation Protilerin in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism].

The stimulation test--TRH test was carried out with the Bulgarian drug "Protilerin" in 63 patients (Basedow's disease--53 patients, basedoid goiter--5 patients, infiltrative ophthalmopathy--5 patients) and in 20 healthy controls. The healthy controls showed normal reaction to the stimulation. All patients with hyperthyroidism showed a suppressed response to the stimulation.
