Objectives: A subset of hypoplastic-left-heart-syndrome (HLHS) fetuses have a complex cor-triatriatum sinister that we named "labyrinthine-cor (L-cor)". We sought to determine the prevalence of L-cor in HLHS fetuses and hypothesized that it is associated with increased mortality.

Methods: This single-center retrospective cohort study included all HLHS fetuses from January 2010-December 2020.

Background: Neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) have varying degrees of pulmonary hypoplasia, pulmonary hypertension (PH) and cardiac dysfunction. These neonates frequently require vasoactive support and are at high risk for mortality and morbidity, including prolonged ventilator support, need for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), prolonged length of stay, and need for tracheostomy. However, identifying which infants are at increased risk can be challenging.

A 15-year-old patient with infective endarteritis had a pulmonary artery vegetation but no ductus arteriosus on echocardiogram. Computed tomography scan revealed a closed ductus that became patent after antibiotics and anticoagulation. Infective endarteritis should be considered in patients with a pulmonary artery vegetation even if no ductus is seen on echocardiogram.

Objectives: To investigate cardiac size, shape, and ventricular contractility in fetuses with estimated fetal weight (EFW) <10th centile at sea level (Houston).

Methods: A prospective ultrasound study examined 37 fetuses with EFW <10th centile at sea level. High-frequency cine clips were used to evaluate the 4-chamber view including end-diastolic measurements and global sphericity index.
