We followed 23 elderly patients (age 75 years or older) with previous myocardial infarctions for an average of 22.4 months after cardiac catheterization. The mortality rate for the medically treated patients was 13%, and 28% for the surgically treated patients.

The electrocardiographic abnormalities found in localized cerebrovascular hemorrhage which have been documented by computerized tomography (CT) scans are described. Frontal lobe hemorrhages are associated especially with the electrocardiographic abnormalities of QT prolongation and neurogenic T waves. Brain stem hemorrhage seems to be associated with noncardiogenic pulmonary edema, and sudden development of atrial fibrillation.
