Importance: Persisting or new thrombi in the distal arteries and the microcirculation have been reported to limit the benefits of successful endovascular thrombectomy for patients with acute ischemic stroke. It remains uncertain whether intra-arterial thrombolysis by urokinase following near-complete to complete reperfusion by thrombectomy improves outcomes among patients with ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion.
Objective: To assess the efficacy and adverse events of intra-arterial urokinase after near-complete to complete reperfusion by thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion.
Cell-type-specific activation of parvalbumin (PV)-expressing neurons in the external globus pallidus (GPe) through optogenetics has shown promise in facilitating long-lasting movement dysfunction recovery in mice with Parkinson's disease. However, its translational potential is hindered by adverse effects stemming from the invasive implantation of optical fibers into the brain. In this study, we have developed a non-invasive optogenetics approach, utilizing focused ultrasound-triggered mechanoluminescent nanotransducers to enable remote photon delivery deep in the brain for genetically targeted neuromodulation.

Aim: To evaluate the association of serum total testosterone (TT) levels with cardiometabolic diseases in men with ED.
Methods: Serum endogenous TT levels were determined to evaluate their associations with cardiometabolic diseases in men with ED in outpatient clinics.
Recently, it has been realized that immune processes participate in the pathogenesis of human cancers. A large number of genetic polymorphisms in immune-related genes have been extensively examined for their roles in the susceptibility of gastric cancer (GC) and colorectal cancer (CRC), including IL4 gene rs2070874, IL4RA gene rs1801275, IL18 gene rs187238, IL18RAP gene rs917997, IL17A gene rs8193036, IL23R gene rs1884444 and IL23R gene rs10889677. However, there is no consistent conclusion, which calls for further research.

While most studies have largely focused on mammalian hibernation, its reptilian equivalent has been less studied. In order to provide insights into the energy metabolism and potential microbial regulatory mechanisms in hibernating snakes, the serum, liver, gut content samples were measured by multi-omic methods.
